I have two TiVos and since Sunday PM, neither have successfully connected to the tivo service.

Error: The Media Device encountered a problem while connecting to the TiVo Service (N18).

I've tried manually connecting and restarting both devices and nothing works.  The wifi connection is OK, and i've tried tethering to my mobile and that doesn't work either.

Any ideas?

Oh crap!  I have the exact same issue which I only discovered late last night which a reboot doesn't fix.  Same story, the WiFi connects fine and has a strong signal but when updating it gets to Configuring then fails.  Tonight I was going to run my long ethernet cable and bypass the wifi.  If that works I have a spare WiFi router which I can put into bridge mode or use a couple of Powerline adapters.

After the earthquake on Monday morning there was a slight flicker of power and thought it might have spiked the WiFi adapter (despite it all being plugged into a filter).  The timing stacks up given the last successful update for me was early evening Sunday.

Anyone able to update via ethernet?

I will check tonight, but to be honest I have been waiting for them to pull the plug.  Maybe this is it?

Down for us also. 4 TiVo units not currently connecting to the service.

Just in case it's not affecting everyone (not looking good so far!) and is isolated to certain connections/providers, all units connect via LAN connected to fibre, Spark being our provider.

I've emailed support@mytivo.co.nz to see if they can provide an update.

This isn't sounding good.  I'll email them too.

I'm on ADSL via WiFi through NOW (local HB ISP) so rules out a Spark specific issue.

Same problem, down via Spark Fibre/ethernet direct connections on both of our TIVOs. Last successful update was Saturday 12/11/16 at 7.28am. Thankfully the guide is cached until 23/11/16. Hope it's all fixed before then...

Contact them at support@mytivo.co.nz and lodge your observed fault.  The more people who contact them the more likely they'll respond and hopefully quickly.

Remember some broadcasters don't submit their guides as long as others.  TVNZ do cast theirs for nearing two weeks but TV3 etc... are only good for a bit over a week.  Without an up to date guide your TiVo's won't know what's on so won't record anything effectively making it a brick.  At this point I will actually cry.

Just got off the phone from Tivo support which is still being handled to a limited degree by Spark, and they said that it's an Aussie-wide problem also but they aren't aware of what's actually happened. They have passed several cases on to Hybrid. Hopefully Hybrid haven't pulled the plug and are on to it?

So looks like channel 7 are now in charge of it according to that page. Perhaps people could contact them via their facebook and twitter page etc to chase them up.

You mean @DanHybrid? Haven't seen him around here for quite a while.

Does anyone know what this guy is up to?

http://forums.oztivo.net/showthread.php?2770-updates-to-tvguide-data

Is he an employee of Hybrid, Channel 7 or a someone acting alone?

I tried my tivo and it didn't connect, although it has guides up to the 25th, so it isn't a problem yet. But hopefully if it is reaching EOL, they will open source it.
