I've got two upgraded Tivos called Lounge and Bedroom. Both are using wireless adapters and apart from their IP addresses their setups are identical that's worked for years.

 

Lounge is fine, connects every day and gets the EPG

 

However I've just discovered that Bedroom's last successful connection was a week ago so it has now run out of EPG

 

Going into Bedroom's Settings/Network/Connect to the Tivo Service Now results in a N17 fail

 

But if I go instead to Settings/Network/View Network Diagnostics/Tivo Service Connection then it passes

 

So what can I try? Is a Clear & Delete likely to do anything?

A quick google-fu and N17 comes up as a failed while negotiating, I'm picking there is a network problem which is causing this, poor wi-fi signal?

Wifi between 74% (good) and 78% (excellent).

First thing is to try is with a network cable.

Thought I would try swapping over the two tivos

 

Lounge Tivo went into the bedroom and connected to the server no problem

 

Bedroom Tivo went into the lounge and failed the connection with these two screens

You appear to have manually tried to connect to the OzTivo server, before the Tivo has changed the DialCode to 140. You should try connecting again after you've seen those text messages on the screen.

Check the network settings. Maybe they are set to static settings that aren't compatible with your network. Normally using DHCP should be fine, and your Tivo should get its IP from the modem and you can check there to see if it has received the correct network settings. Have you connected with an ethernet cable yet? Avoid wireless for testing purposes.

Changed to ethernet - still fails

 

As I mentioned originally, both tivos have run for years with no network connectivity issues so do I now try a Guided Setup?

How does the information on the network settings page compare to the one that works?

The settings are the same apart from the IP and MAC numbers

 

Also notice that the time on both tivos can at times be out. Earlier this week, both Tivos were 3 hours behind as though even though their settings were for NZ, they had changed to AEST. For the last few days, Lounge tivo had righted itself and had been displaying the correct time. Today however both Tivos are now two hours behind.

 

Luckily I do very little FTA recording  8-)
