I think it's highly likely we'll all stay at Level 4 until 23:59 on Sunday, that gives a couple of extra days for contact tracing and testing, and sewage testing.

If by 12:00 noon on Sunday 22nd there have been no cases outside Auckland and Coromandel, and no positive sewage tests outside Auckland & Coromandel, then the South Island could go down to Level 2 and the rest of the North Island to Level 3 at 23:39 on Sunday. Auckland & Coromandel stay at L4 for another week.
There would have to be special rules for cross-Cook-Strait traffic.

If there are no nasty surprises, everywhere steps down a level every two weeks thereafter until we're all back at L1 again

Rugby is never a priority in WA.

If it was NSW they will welcome the ABs with open arms.

My prediction - test moves to NSW!

My (optimistic) prediction.

Now that they've found the link, Auckland will stay at Level 4 till midnight 31st August.

IF cases are down to zero unknown origin (so only occurring within family bubbles of existing cases), Auckland down to L3 for a week, then L2 from Weds 8th. L1 a week or so later.

That's as optimistic as I can be. I suspect those timelines will be pushed out. Auckland L3/L2 for most of September.

I hope I'm right - had a weekend in Welly booked for my birthday 10-12th Sep :)

I wonder how long does my toilet water take to get to a test point, meters per hour ?

There are 21 cases with POI's, dating from Aug 7 but there are other cases that exist now and will be in a count in days to come or maybe not if they didn't get a test, so there are people who can spread it and we don't know their POI's, so I feel random tests are fine. 20 cases is what we know, but thats not them all

IMO

Random tests have prevented my partner from being able to make it through the queue and get tested, we're on day 3 of trying.  She's symptomatic.  And we live in one of the cluster areas (Birkenhead) and have been into the same shops, albeit outside the times.

She's been in the queue for 6 hours so far and isn't sure if she will get tested before closing time.  So I'm less happy about it.

Edited to add how long she's been in the current queue.

Where did you go?  My partner is still in the queue for Albany, arrived there just before 10am.

Northcote, after seeing the main site at the Eventfind Stadium had a kilometers-long car queue. Northcote was probably just as busy, the lady a few up from me had been there since 7am, I got there about 10-ish, seen at 1.

For anyone else thinking of going, the trick isn't to get there early since everyone else is doing that too, it's to bring a book and a thermos. Just treat it as a day (sort-of) out and it's pretty stress-free.

Dingbatt:

So not having visited a location of interest and having no symptoms, you decided to line up and get tested anyway?

My neighbour was at a LoI at the right time to get infected and I had dinner with them two days later... since I'm providing food/support for two sets of elderly people the last thing I want to do is put their lives at risk.

Unless of course you have symptoms and have been trying since yesterday to get a test. Knowing full well the result is going to be delayed while all the ‘just to be sure’ tests are processed as well.

Hence a priority lane.

And a surveillance lane.

And then everyone is a priority and the surveillance lane is tumbleweeds, particularly when people realise the surveillance lane is just a parking lot.

Sorry should have added a ‘Self Entitled’ lane as well.

Imo they are unlikely to drop 2 levels in one go. The last thing they want to do is have to raise levels which they have had to do before.
