Has anyone run into an Anti Vaxxer before?

Yes, a very good friend of mine and his wife are vegan anti vax PETA patrol warriors. His wife continuously tries to shove her agenda and beliefs down everyone’s throats on Facebook, she was one of the reasons I ended up deleting my FB account, it was easier to delete my account than having to explain to my mate why I unfriended her, plus it saves my brain cells from the rest of the idiots on FB.

Isn't that generally how parents see chickpox. So some have chickenpox parties. But I see there is a vaccine for it. It appears once you have had it, it remains dormant, and can become active again later in life causing shingles.

Those that have chickenpox parties are just as bad as the anti-vaxxes.

People who have had chickenpox as a child are more likely to have shingles later in life due to the fact our immune system weakens as we age and the virus reawakens after lying dormant in our nerve endings.

Those who have been immunised as a children are very much less likely (not 100%) to get shingles later in life.

Chickenpox is on the decline in 1st world countries and shingles is on the rise but it is NOT caused by the chickenpox vaccine. It is on the rise because the chickenpox vaccine was not available to today's older generation when they were kids.

If you have never had chickenpox or been immunised then stay away from those that have chickenpox or shingles cause you will have no immunity to either. So grandparents who have shingles stay well away from your pre-immunised grandchildren.

If your kids are under 11 the chickenpox vaccine is free. Get them immunised!! Over that age it is $80 for one dose. For the shingles vaccine it is free!! between the age of 65 and 80 and I strongly advice everyone one in that age group to get vaccinated. Shingles is a VERY painful condition that lasts a minimum of 4 weeks and can reoccur, unlikely but it happens.

PS: that pesky cold sore you get when you are run down, well it was most likely given to you by you grandparents when you were a baby. So that kiss you were given was not so kitschy kitschy coo coo.

We are talking about viruses here folks. One of the trickiest and deadliest organisms known.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Yeah, but if you want to be fatalistic about life, you can step into traffic without looking, go into deep water if you don't know how to swim, or play around with electricity......

Personally death is something I generally try to avoid if possible...
