What would happen if I didn't have a car? (original vaccination place was next door to work)

How far is it? I walked to my vaccination location and back, which was about 15kms round trip. (It was good to get out again :-).

About 14 km

My wife called.  They will not accept people by themselves ???  Children under 12 in the car are okay but wont be immunised (of course).

I have a doctors 400m away that give jabs and I am registered at but have to go to the 14km drive in place for some reason.

Good on you.

I'm 30yrs+ No McD.... / 8yrs+ No KFC or other Big Chain Takeaway.

Enjoy my local (Small) 2 Fish-n-Chip Shops, and both do a great Bacon & Egg Burger or Meat Pattie too!

I assume it's because of risk of adverse reaction.  Highly unlikely that anybody will be going into anaphylaxis only after the 15 minute wait period but during the subsequent 15 minute drive home alone, but it would be headline news if it did.

Having uncontrolled people wandering around a facility setup for drive through is a good way to have an accident.

Imagine what some of those 24/7 greased palaces will be like after 2 weeks with little notice of shutdown.

Being an ex service tech for some of these properties, it was average at best with closing cleaning......2 weeks should be a fantastic petri dish

Thank you for your advice.  How many weeks after lockdown dropdown would you suggest is safe?

For McPlastic or KFRat, either ten to twenty years or when you're deceased, whichever comes first.

Was that describing KFC/Maccas/BK - or a vaccination centre?

Had first jab in the weekend and other than a sore arm and not being able to lie on that side in bed that night there were no issues. Second one booked for 6 weeks later.

Went in today with my wife and kids in the car.  Went in at 8.30 and was out by 9.20, this included 20 minute wait time and drive through 2 checkpoints where they checked details and the actual jab.

Saw cars with only one person in them but I don't know if they were turning those away.

Imagine how fast our vaccination targets would get hit, if you required a vaccination to get Maccas, KFC or Fish and Chips :)

My 12-Year-old had his first Jab today! He was pretty anxious, but seemed to settle when I reminded him we are doing it for him, but just as importantly, so we can protect those who cannot get it for themselves for legitimate reasons. Was kinda cool because someone in the waiting room for a doctor overheard it, and said she had decided to have one as a result of that logic. She had one when we were there waiting to go.

The local pharmacy is now finally taking bookings. Sorted! First one this coming Saturday.

Partner also got her booking for the shot cancelled last night at 930pm via text. Apparently the Mangere place is deserted.
