Looking to buy a Tesla? Use my referral link and we both get credits
Obraik: Yeah I guess it depends how important appearance is. Personally, I don't normally like white cars but I think white Tesla's look pretty good with their contrasting features - they have a Star Wars Stormtrooper look to them.
Yeah, I know what you mean - I passed a white 3 earlier this afternoon, and it's far less offensive than most white cars, particularly as a result of the black of the tinted glass roof.
Anyway, once in the car it'll not be me needing to look at the outside!
Those prices given above aren't as high as I'd feared, though; I was going by my recollection of what a local 3 owner said he'd paid for getting his 3 wrapped in Auckland - I thought he'd said $8k (and that didn't have the interior bits like doorsills wrapped)
Dingbatt:kingdragonfly: As long as Scott Morrison is in office, and Australia keeps heavily subsidizing the petroleum industry, they're not going to have much success. So I guess record sales of Tesla Model 3s in Australia are just “fake news”?
When I checked about the cost of a wrap before ordering my Model 3 it was $6000 for the exterior plus $500 per door to get the sills wrapped. Not having to wrap the roof saves quite a bit of vinyl as well.

Dingbatt:
I am putting this here rather than the Model 3 thread (maybe that needs to be changed to a ‘Tesla’ thread instead?).
Australian pricing announced* (according to Chasing Cars, at least) for the Model Y.
The standard range 2wd and performance models $AUD$68K and $AUD98K respectively (+ORCs).
So there is a chance the 2wd will sneak in below the magic number.
* Edit: Note this is a leak (now that I have read into it further) but it does provide hope for those holding out for a sub $80K MY.
Some claims yesterday that some in Aus were able to order a Model Y; could well be bollox, but I guess time will tell...
Given we may be (finally, hopefully...) getting close to a release of the MY there and here, I thought it was a good time to re-open the Model Y-specific thread to keep posts on that car together, so have posted a link to that article on that thread:

(Or would it make more sense, as someone else suggested, to get the current main M3 thread re-labelled to cover both M3 and MY?)
Which is the front!
Lets see - perhaps

That is one ugly car even by 70s standards. Can see why it wasn't successful. Makes the Ladas of the 70's look classy. At least some companies are now creating some really spectacular looking EVs. The visual appearance is very important for the success.
Looks like they might have e used the same doors as the Trekka.T he door handles are at least very similar and the overall door shape is also very similar.

Too cruel. I'd put the design values right up there with CyberTruck.
Not even close. Much better looking than CT.

Must say, Tesla has finally improved their physical styling.
