Batman:
it says Model 3 is 50kwH 150kw/350nm where as model Y is 60kwh 220kw and 442nm
is the discrepancy that big? that's news to me, i thought they had the same motor and battery
The Model 3 RWD is 211kW. The Model Y RWD is 220kW

So all the other EV manufacturers that have vehicles in the space where a possible Model 2 would fit will go “Excellent. Announced in 2024, produced in 2026, delivered in 2027.” And continue pumping out vehicles like the iD3, Cupra Born, BYD Dolphin, etc.

Tesla's presentation slides seemingly depict a low-slung sedan or coupe silhouette, instead of previous rumours that the Model 2 would be a crossover SUV or hatchback. It also teased a high-riding people-mover or van-like model.

Depends what year. The 2022 Model 3 RWD out of Shanghai has the 3D7 motor at 194kW.

None of this applies to electric motors. They have the same (large) amount of torque from zero to 3000RPM, above which it drops off a bit.
Yes, that's why I said normally I'd just leave it in 4th gear, which is 1:1 ratio. :-)
Yep. Much easier mounting a Leaf motor to a manual gearbox - pull the ICE and the clutch and attach to the gearbox input shaft via a spline adapter. Then select a gear that suits what you need to do that day and put your foot on the go pedal.
Direct drive without a gearbox is not so good - the Leaf differential is about 8:1 - double what most cars use.

Given that the lead designer at Tesla used to work for Mazda, it might not be so far fetched.

I am not sure if this has been discussed before, I am looking for suggestions, recommendations, views etc on electric vans and similar. Looking for something to move mobility gear such as mobility scooters . Ideally with reasonably low lift height to enable a ramp to load scooter with a manageable gradient or a load lifter.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

@kingdragonfly:
Perhaps you should start a new thread.
I guess the first question you should ask is "Can the scooter be withstand rain and wind, and the rider get into and out of a vehicle easily? In other words could a trailer / truck handle?"
You may wish to talk to a trailer builder.
You can get a good idea from how taxis do it.
I'm thinking you need a wheelchair lift / hoist.
You could google
lift OR hoist OR hoists wheelchair taxi site:nz
lift OR hoist OR hoists wheelchair van site:nz
I found this solution, which seemed like a nice compromise.
