Bout that time of year

On websites that have "alternative" options for downloading......... search for Teds Notebook or Formula 1, there are 4 short videos re the test days at Jerez.

Not much to see or hear, but the last one goes into real detail on the aero changes the teams have made, pretty darn interesting, with close-ish ups

I also liked the front wing comparison from the late 90's West McLaren to now. One looks like a single flat piece, the other is architecture to the max.

Teds notebook is great, he gets so in depth walking up\down the back of the pits after races.
Thanks for the reminder, I'll grab the testing vids now.

Have you been following the Formula E?

Ive tried to watch Formula E, but struggled. Its like wanting a raspberry ice-cream, but I got given vanilla. How many races have been run? I might give it another crack

4 so far.  Beijing, Putrajaya, Uruguay, Buenos Aires.

There's a few former f1 drivers in it, and due to the standardized cars the racing is quite close like A1GP.  It also has some unique points like #fanboost and swapping to a 2nd car in the pit stop.  I've been enjoying the series so far, although the top speeds are well down on F1.

It's another month+ till the next race.

While I'm a Mercedes fan and love the fact they've done so well, I'd also like to see the other teams to be a little stronger this year. Much like the Ferrari era it's a lot more exciting when the sport isn't dominated by a single team.

I think this year will be a lot closer with a revised Renault engine, more teams running Mercedes engines and Honda back in the mix.
Last season would have been a lot more boring if they hadn't let Hamilton\Rosberg race each other too.

They didn't imo. Bahrain was great, then I think the next race they pitted Rosberg, then they were kept separate, and he missed out. From then on "strategic " moves usually kept them apart mostly. There has been much talk of boring, losing attendances, but I thought last year was great as the rest of the pack raced together. If the Mercedes team had given a blessing towards racing each other, we would have had damn exciting stuff going on. Tight racing, controversial comments, the occasional contact. That is racing

(i dont have sky)  Does Sky NZ have a Dedicated F1 channel like Sky UK?

i might sign up to Starsports.com/unotelly this year, pretty cheap f1 coverage, in addition to the alternative ways i watch it

Dan Ricc is on the next top gear UK episode

I'm excited this year purely to see Honda and Mclaren reunited. I was a little disappointed by the livery though.

They have pop up channels for the pitlane but imo for me, not much interest

The alternate ways are an option.

Anti-Sky comment or genuine? No idea, it may be Sky related or FIA related.

A genuine question.

I have emailed Sky asking them the same question.

I will post their reply here once I receive it.

Re thinking this, it may be that the costs was too high, and ads needed to cover some cost.

Cool. Going to be super interesting, the first race, we should do a friendly sweep on it.
