Detruire:
kendo: I sent them an email saying that we will take action against them, citing the fair trading act. Especially since people were able to go in store and buy them at this price. I encourage everyone to do the same.

Were they? The few posts I saw about going in store mentioned that the in-store price was hundreds of dollars higher.

One guy said his mate when in and got 2 for that price.

when my real estate agent relative says something impossible, i don't believe them for one second.

when an anonymous person's mate did something other people can't, it's also hard to believe.

this is the internet you know

Hang on, did they just open a can of worms with that email. They have said its a system error not a pricing error?

Damn, my orders are now cancelled. I fired them an email more for my own amusement:

I ordered 2 tablets for both myself and my partner at your "Crazy Sale" price of $48.00 and noticed today without any form of notification that these are now cancelled.

Since these were listed as a crazy sale there was no reason that the prices were incorrect or anything along those lines especially since now your website gives a "this offer is now expired" message meaning this was an actual legitimate offer.

No matter what your terms and agreement says this is a breach of the fair trading act - you simply can't list a sale when you've got products at over 50% off and all the sudden pull products from the sale, not notifying people in the process. When you list a product as on sale at a crazy price during a crazy weekend sale you've shot yourself in the foot and really have to do it - it is not an absurd statement due to the fact many businesses operate through loss leaders to get people in their doors.

So, where are my orders?

It's more than a can of worms. Pandora's Box magnitude :)

They could have just said pricing error ... and then end of story. But no ... system porting error leading to cancelled order according to Clause in Ts & Cs.

This is going to be fun!

Wow just got the email. It doesn't state this was a pricing issue and more an inability to monitor stock.

The reasoning they cancelled my orders now really isn't in their T&C's. I asked them to backorder my tablets.

a system error causing a pricing mistake.  case closed.

7. CANCELLATION OF ORDERS

7.1 JB Hi-Fi reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an Order that it has previously accepted. JB Hi-Fi may do this for example, but without limitation, where:

(c) Goods ordered were subject to an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price or image, which was not discovered prior to the Order being accepted;

I'm not sure whether to admire the tenacity or roll my eyes at those who are prepared to fight tooth and nail.

Personally, I ordered because it would have been a great deal if it were genuine.  Turns out it wasn't, someone made a booboo (system error - you can argue people form part of the 'system').  JB Hifi appear to be acting within the law, cancelling my orders making sure I'm not out of pocket and an apology for inconvenience caused.  Case closed as far as I'm concerned.  I don't think any less of JB Hifi because of it.

Consider if you made a mistake at work that could cost the company you're working for (tens of) thousands of dollars.  How would you feel?  Do you think the company should wear that loss even if it was completely within its rights to avoid it.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
