Bought some stuff and got this email

Thank you for your recent order with Nzsale.

On select transactions, we require further authorization from our customers regarding specific credit card charges.

We simply need to obtain a copy of your Drivers Licence or Passport along with a utility bill corresponding to your delivery address.

As soon as we receive this verification we shall finalize your order.

Due to the nature in which our orders are processed, please be advised that your credit card has already been debited however this additional security information is required in order to dispatch your order.

We apologize for the inconvenience, however this information is requested only once from our customers and offers protection for yourself, the cardholder, and ourselves.

Could you please send an email to

I would reply, "you have my money, send my product or i'll be talking to my bank to get a charge back done"

Can't see any reason why they need so much personal information to process a credit card transaction, it makes it seem a bit suspect

I have been asked for my drivers ID before a long time ago. But also to request a utility bill sounds strange. They don't really provide identity, just that someone has found your wallet. If those details were intercepted by the wrong person, it could be a worry.

No idea. It's an anti fraud countermeasure. Why was your 'select' purchase/transaction selected?

Overseas card address? VPN (oseas ip etc) service?

Unless its something real weird like they pass details to a dropshipper and it asks them randomly

Some sites go to extra lengths where card address and delivery address are different but I don't recall any going this far.

If they have charged your credit card then you have done your part of the contract / deal so they should be dispatching the goods

I got something similar when I tried to buy a cheap laptop from JBHifi in Australia and then have my son collect it from one of their stores .
I did not have the utility bill so I cancelled the order and instead re ordered and then got them to deliver it to my sons Brisbane address.

I've had similar things like this in the past as an anti fraud measure.

Hell no!

You have already given them credit card info.

It is enough.. We pay Credit card companies for the rest.

Contact your card company ASAP.
