First half, yes, hammered. Out that down to a clinical display, run of the green, and a lack of focus from the Warriors. Possession was 2/3 Storm, and they well and truly used that. Ironically we were a cm from the first try.

On reflection its not that bad. 6-2 this season, beat the unbeaten Dragons last game, matched Storm last 40 mins while being down 2 key players. The 38-0 should have gone to 70-6 but it didnt

I agree with your points but the score reflects a hammering either way you look at it really, splitting hairs. The 4 day turnaround and turning up on day 5 wouldn't of helped either.

First half they were clearly outplayed that's a given. Second half was a better display but the Warriors were facing a mammoth task to chase down that score line and against a team known for strong defence, the result was never in doubt.

it may look worse then it was ,but in reality you leak points like that your not going very far in the NRL. Take it as a lesson and learn from it which I think they will and next week we will see a different team.

I still think we are miles ahead of previous seasons and this is a wake up call that if you clock off momentarily against a team like the Storm, they will punish you.

I doubt that at half time they had any thoughts of chasing the score down, it was over.

Take the Storm, they lost 3 games of 7. Defence wasn't great. Friday they played a blinder.

Take the Warriors, lost 1 game from 7. They played only solid when Broncos beat them, and then ended the unbeaten streak by the Dragons. Yes they were well beaten the other night but were competitive second half, and results to date werent lucky. Agreed, more learnings from that first 40 minutes, just as the Storm have progressed their game.

Being a long term gave up Warriors viewer, they do have what it takes to go all the way, the skill and game is there. Like other teams, the team makeup, game plans, etc will improve through the season. Remember, their results so far exceed every other team, except one

Good news, Luke has been named to play this weekend after initially been told its 4 weeks haha. I reckon its propaganda. Warriors learning how to play mind games finally off the field.

Even if that is true, the other good news is, Johnson, HARRIS, Kata, Gavet, Papali'i and Hiku are all recovered and playing the Tigers this weekend.

Given we have only been playing top 8 contenders without all those star players we have managed to nab 6/8.

If Luke doesnt play, which I hope they dont play him, it should be Lawton called up from reserve grade where he and Mason Lino have been tearing it up keeping us in the top 8 in the NSW cup.

So speaking of Lino, Id expect if Luke does play, they will put Lino on the bench to Cover Luke and Johnson and Greens injuries, which means pretty much via him covering 9 and 7, we can cover from hooker to Full Back via our starting squad shuffling. Our depth, no, our quality of depth this year is insane.

Im expecting something like 28-10 win, with Bunji scoring a late try with us defending our try line a lot in the game due to the refs still being very inconsistent with this offside 10m panties in a twist thing they got going on lol.

Make no mistake though, the tigers are a top 8 team, so the Warriors will have to bring it.

Also the storm game, no matter who played in that first half they were going to get slaughtered by the storm, half of the tries were just unstoppable freaks that will show up in post season highlights.

The positive is, we only narrowly lost the second half 12-10. They could have completely caved but it shows the difference in the warriors this year, they regained their pride and dug deep.

So if we win this game, that 7/10, fabulous, hasnt happened since our Minor Premiers year. Then we have the Roosters who we should beat AGAIN even though sportsbet have them higher rated for the GF. Then Parra who have been very good in last 2 weeks damn it (please go back to playing like ....), then going into Oirigin we have the Bunnies again, another top 8 team but one we can easily beat, then its mid season and we have a bye. That should see us 10/12 at half way, which means we only need 3/12 to make the 8 for first time in 6 years. But I think they will be wanting a top 4 position, obviously its easier to get to the GF from the top 4 than the bottom 4 of the 8.

The reason I predicted the Broncos and Storm losses, is because Bennett taught Bellamy and Bellamy taught Kearney and Kearney is the least experienced of the 3, so they all play the same defense. There was a bit more to it than that but thats the basics.

So Im 8/8 and started at $100 with SportsBet and now I think Im up around $2k. Considering riding it all the way to the finals lol, but I will fail some point. Just a bit of fun.

I didnt expect us to finish top 4 this year but make the 8, so Im very happy. The reason being, last year Kearney did what Bennet and Bellamy do, he taught the team how to complete sets and drop the ball less etc. So this year he rolled out the Defense playbook, whilst Jones and Cappy concentrated a little on offense, Kearney has been focussing the team 95% of defense. You cant play Broncos/Storm defense without FITNESS, poaching Alex Corvo from the storm was a master stroke. its means the big polynesian forwards can make the 10 metres consistently now and our backs can underlap their team mates to cover Flanked offense.

I expected our maiden premiership next year, but to be honest, at this rate anything is possible this year.

That's not close. 28-10. You could probably use28-10 every game and be close-ish

Yes, they did deliver, from 1st kick to full time.

The two losses, and play since, I hope has given them the faith. Who cares if a team runs hot in the first 10? It happens. Tigers started very well. Play your game, the result will look after itself.

Im not gloating, im 9/9 now. What im showing is how good our defense is. And the only try they scored was just pure strength and will power. Fus had to tackle him ball and all so he couldnt score, some how he managed to reef his arm out and stretch it out before hitting the sideline, brilliant individual try, but I still dont blame Fus for it, one on one thats the best you can do.

How many weeks left before the top 8 are known? With being ahead of the game, we can spend more time on playing well, and less time trying to get up the ladder, thats a big bonus.

Yes I am alittle, only because Im surprised how well Im doing this season lol. Yep I picked the broncos and storms losses and our resurgence to beat tigers as we matched the storm in the second half try for try. Along with the tigers scraping through their wins and losing to some pretty easy teams. I tend to go with gut feel as I watch every game, but also Im a stats nutter, I look at every stat, compare how we stack up etc. I also take into account expectations, ie sportsbet expected the storm to be #1 GF choice, Roosters#2, Dragons 3, Warriors 4. So this weekends game is really hard to pick as a lot of people are clearly still expecting the roosters to click into gear. Watching their last game, they were lucky to scrap home 2 points over the Seagles which many picked as making the 8, but have had the worst injury list of seen on any team that I can remember, so Im dropping them out of my 8 as well. Anyway, is that the catalyst for the roosters to click into 1st gear when they play us, in Auck. Statiscally one would have to say we have it, much the same as we had the tigers. Im just waiting for the team list, which is posted on a Tuesday. Luke has dislocated his shoulder before and he popped it back in onfield by the looks, but it just takes a few days of swelling to subside to be 100%. Blair rolled an ankle which we all know hurts for a few days, again, just swelling. Johnson is expected to miss at least one game due to ankle inury, although he was walking without a hobble, go figure, he is a bit fragile at times. On the plus side, our best game of the season was against the roosters which Johnson didnt play in and Lino took over. Lino is almost identical to Green in skills. Great game management (thats what we missed for 6 years while Johnson was 7), great 5th tackle kicker (has one 40/20 in the main comp from 3 games, Warriors lead 40/20s thanks to him and Green), great accurate bomb kick, he can put it on a dime for Fusitua to do his Michael Jordan like hang time to catch and plummet over the line, he has a great accurate grubber like Green, rarely does it go too deep or too short, he has a fantastic pass. If Green was only on a 1 year contract, Id feel confident with Lino taking over full time for him and Johnson playing. But with Johnson being so fragile, I think it would be smart to pay Lino a 1st grade Salary and keep Green as well. Also Lino is leading us in the NSW cup, we were looking like 5 wins in a row until a late couple of tries on the weekend rendered us our first loss in a while. But we are still 4th I think, but there are a lot of teams with 5 wins.

As for when we know teams make the 8, it depends on their win rate. If the Warriors win their next 3 games like they are expected, they will finish the first half of season 10/12 and we have a bye, I personally think we should have a bye when SoO is not on as we have no players in it, so it doesnt impact us, but they do it so we dont capitlise which I think sucks as other teams dont have SoO players and also we have been dealt the hardest Draw in the comp. You play each team at least once and then half of the teams twice, of the 8 teams we play twice, only one is not vying for a top 8 position. You compare that to Newc, Tigers, Penrith and it totally sucks. The upside is if we can win against top 8 teams all year, we will go into the finals in the best form.

To answer the question, from a warriors perspective, if we go into our bye 10/12, we need 3 from 12 to make the 8. I think the team has its eyes more on the top 4. I think if we were to win 8/12 we should be there abouts on making the top 4, if we win 10/12 again, we have a high chance of being Minor Premiers.

Yep, its looking like that now. Started off strong and consistent, beats me how they are sliding. They beat the only unbeaten team after losing prior match. I didnt watch last night, but all I can think of is they dont have set plans, they seem to just be playing without a lot of innovative set pieces.

I didn't watch either, however, the number of times their losses have coincided with not completing sets and defense seems to indicate these are the issues. Along with a true team culture.

That 6 role is pivotal. We need either Lino or Johnson in the team. Hiku was terrible at it. We would have been better off using Harris.

Anyway, what we didnt do that we needed to, get off our line during the PTB to stop their forwards running over the top of us. That was the one big thing everybody said would lose us the game before hand, its almost like they deliberately waited for the burgess brothers to arrive at them and then bust the tackle. Lastly Cook was just insanely good again. Luke is amazing this season, but Cook makes him look ordinary. Hes NSW 9 no doubt. No attempt to target him like you would any top player in a team.

We didnt try to flank them where they have been weak in recent weeks, which has been our #1 play for most of the season.

Just some bizarre choices.

Johnson is back after the break. Id keep Beale and maybe replace Kata. Hiku was linking nicely with Fus prior and whilst Id have normally said keep kata as hes a better defender. Hikus defense has improved statisically and we need to be scoring more points.

8/12 is our best first half of season ever, I wouldnt be too upset. we are 1 win off number 1 spot. Every team has inconsistencies, usually around pivotal player loss. The rabbitohs did earlier in the season, Manly are decimated and will need 9/12 to make the 8, but given how many players they are missing it wont happen.

Id say at some stage we will go on another 4-5 game streak. We should finish in the 4, with a remote chance of winning the minor prem. But I was expecting them to be this good until next year, so Im not unhappy. As long as they win every second game and make the 8 again Id say that primary objective.
