We went with a solid board, so the kids could come out too.

Heavy though, and I'm a big guy, handles me fine.

I bought this one for my wife.

The best advice I can give is to make sure you buy a two stage pump. It will inflate your board much quicker than a single stage. A two stage pump will get your board to ~8-10PSI quickly using a blower and then switch to a compressor to finish the job up to the target setting. My wife's board states 15PSI target but she never goes beyond 12PSI. The advantage of being a feather weight!

Thanks for the quick response. 10-15mins seems like quite a long time, but I guess it's easier than doing all the work manually. What pressure does your board need pumping up to? I think ours is 16psi.

Do you know anyone else who has a pump? Keen to hear other opinions/thoughts as well.

Much better than doing it manually - you actually have energy left to paddle! I find I am more willing to take the board 'on location' knowing that I dont have to hand pump the thing maybe just for a 1 hour paddle then deflating it and taking it home.

My SUP is 15 PSI.

Caveat - I don't have a sup board, just surmising out loud.

Would a car tyre 12v compressor work? The one I have in my ute will run a half-inch rattle gun with no issues, which takes quite a bit of volume. It will also cut out at 150psi, so it's not as if it couldn't get to the required pressure - although I'd be wanting to hover around it as it in inflated!

I use it to inflate a queen-size inflatable mattress when we go camping - it's a bit faster than the low-pressure, "high" volume pumps sold to do beds.

There are a lot if models much cheaper than some if the links above, and as a bonus you can now pump up tyres too!

Does anyone have any experience with the container door ones?

Specs look good.

Just received my new toy. And I tried to pump it. Bloody hell, if I was out and about... Pumping it - pretty much all exercise I would want, deflate and go back home. :)

This thing is huuuuge

Just reporting back... I ended up buying this pump:

https://www.torpedo7.co.nz/products/T7PUF21LC/title/high-pressure-electric-lcd-sup-air-pump

I got a friends and family discount code through work and paid $155 (I think). Have used it a few times now and it works really well, pumps up our SUP to 16psi in about 6-7mins. The deflate option is really good too - nice and quick to get it down and no need to push the air out by rolling it up etc. The only thing is the valve is quite stiff and needs a bit of force to make the quarter turn to get the hose onto the board - my wife has struggled to get it on properly.

All in all a good purchase though - am happy with it - and no more sweating getting it pumped out before hitting the water now!
