Im not Bias, but every cricketer knows "BOWL TO YOUR FIELD". you are again thinking i have a bias for anybody, I have a bias for having NZ perform well. Where do you think Sodhi would bowl to, to get a catch if you think im bias, give us your talented cricketing expertise, where is the hardest place not to get caught when playing a shot in the air (ie where is the hardest place to roll your wrists)? sigh.

He bowled the ball at an angle to look like it was going down leg side wide, Roy saw this and played the upward shot thinking he would get it finer than it did, Sodhi straightened the ball into his pads, which created the inability to roll his wrists as it was too late.

Ugggh, Santner puts down another simple one. Somethings wrong, thats about the 7th this summer. Yet he took that beauty earlier. It always hands up he drops. He definitely needs some help with it. He giggled after, that has to be nerves. Styris is digging into Santner, eeeek.

It didnt LOOK like it was going down leg side it was a wide so he went after a free ball. So we should bowl wides every ball, and field for that....lol You can play with that as the seamers have done when the last over or two are desperate for the batters

How do spinners get wickets? Hitting the stumps on a turning ball, batsman missing the ball as it turns gets stumped, mis judges the flight and edges it, or skies it. Sees a bad wide, and goes after it

Oh well, game is close to over, but it will be fun to watch the chase, we will need to bat at a level that keeps it in sight, and pray to not lose too many wickets

i didnt call 400 the commentary did earlier, I dont think they will get there still sticking with 360, perhaps 370.

early prediction for NZ, openers will make 100 off 10 overs, all out by 175 with 30 from Santner and 25 from Williamson lol. seriously it will be a collapse at some stage, that scoreboard pressure is well outside our out of form team.

good move sending Butler in. but sadly for Eng didnt pay off, very lucky as he could seriously hurt us very quickly. mind eeeek still a lot of batting in the shed.

Collapse started with Bairstow's dismissal. How expensive was Santner dropping Bairstow? Not to say the incoming batsmen would have collapsed if it was earlier in the innings. But you gotta wonder.

However, it does also show the 'batter friendly pitch' doesn't ensure a long time at the crease.

Edit: Another English wicket! An NZ like collapse. Lucky they had such a big total before it happened.

Southee another speccy catch. Santner just needs to hang out with Southee for practise.

Another fluke wicket from Sodhi, no way that wronging caused the mis hit to a fielder. All wickets come from LBW or clean bowled or they just luck. lol. ;-p

Catches win matches. You are right, but I guess we will never know. The problem i have is Santners attitude toward dropping what at this level are the easy ones. Its been one thing Ive not liked in his fielding either, he is tardy. Which is bizarre because he is so accurate in his bowling. But hes not the first cricketer to only enjoy the individual reward aspects of the game. And Im sure its something he will get a lot of heat over, well if he doesnt Hesson isnt doing his job.

Conversely and this is not bias, just the truth, Sodhi has been putting in over time on batting and fielding. Santner needs the same on fielding/catching. Like commentary are saying, there is no such thing as a tail ender anymore, all players must be all rounders.

This is Mccullum that has pushed this bat offensively no matter the position on England, which has payed off usually. But its not like they are going to score a bad score, 320-330 is NZ at 120% effort.

Crazy talk. You may have a Sodhi portrait over your bed , I dont. You state a LOT of opinions and hopes as fact. Bias as from post 1 in this thread, nuf said.

ENG has gone to the pack, Bad batting and good bowling doesnt do this on a great batting pitch. They started the death overs at 35, maybe thats the reason, moved away from solid plans to death play. 330 is an outsod echnace now. BC's have to bat as the main priority is no wickets, runs come second

oh thats right one ball makes a career. Imagine what would have happened if all the 65 team changes you wanted every other over, happened? Too much bias. Where is the poor fielding from many today been mentioned? No, just Santner, then praise Sodhi. Sad! (c) DTrump

Well you were the one saying a leg spinner bowling a leg cutter to his field is a LUCK, not me, i just find it humerous as would anybody who enjoys the art of bowling to a field. As for the fielding if you read posts you would have read what i wrote about williamson and the field.

If you are refering to catches, stating Santner has a major problem is not bias, I havnt heard a single commentator or person disagree and with his dropped catches this summer you would have to be nuts to suggest he doesnt have a problem.

See you are saying I am bias, I presume you think toward Sodhi, no, but i do think he is our best leg cutter talent, possibly our best ever. Leg cutters bowl to a field. Santner bowls to a line and length. if he gets wickets its batsman error of line and length as he puts it on a dime 95% of the time he bowls and has very little movement (which is often a good thing), ie an edge, mis hit, charging down the pitch and missing it. hes a finger spinner. you cant compare the two. its like saying Boult isnt as good as Taylor. Sodhi gets batsman error through a myriad of ways due to the nature of being able to deliver so many different deliveries. Thats why Santner has better economy and Sodhi takes more wickets. Similar to Ali vs Rashid in Eng.

I state what is occuring not fact, what i see, i have no emotion involved, i dont see the point in being emotive and i dont understand why you emotively think i have bias for 2 very different players. When not facing a red hot team like Aus, Santner fills the role of low run rate and his second role which is why he was selected over other orthodox spinners is his batting, which he is just living up to now, and I think just in time. to be an all rounder he needs to be over 30avg and hes edging his way up which ive complimented. ive complimented his bowling accuracy. im not going to compliment his dropping sitters every second game. thats not bias, thats just expecting every team player to be able to do the basics.

So you need to let this silly bias thing go. For so many reasons its illogical.

Fantastic innings. Major collapse but that happens.

In the end a great come back from NZ.

We still have a chance, but thats a lot of scoreboard pressure, id like to know how many times NZ has chased down Eng over 300, if ever.....
