Im an RBR fan, a team that has won with lesser gear. This year, win or lose, they have done that with lesser gear. But as a sports fan, I disregard those that are just a fan of the winning player/team, and flip flop as required.
No idea what you're on about
insane:
Hopefully both get taken out on the first lap. If not I fear Lewis is going to drive off into the distance and then talk about how much better the RedBull was this weekend and all year, and talk about how it was the hardest race of his life and that he had to dig deep and use all his skill to drive the sweeping straights.
Now I just want Max to win to annoy all those UK journalists who absolutely hate him all of a sudden.
Can't deny that this championship has been the best thing for F1 in a decade or so.
Bolded, yep! Its a bit painful. Having seen how he has driven over the years, and his comments, IMHO, what he says now is highly predictable, and PR written. Same every week.
Some great trivia. (I only watch the pre FP and late FP, but last race Im watching every minute of all sessions)
For the races that Lewis and Max finished, they have raced 300km short of a London to New York flight. The teams are based 15 miles apart. The cars are a world apart, in terms of hp and grip and design. Yet over 5200km of racing, Max's season race times are just 9 seconds faster than Lewis's over the season. What an awesome stat

Self explanatory. Based on 9 months of posts.
Batman:
I was a Max fan until last weekend. But now I'm a Bottas fan this weekend, Gasly if he gets a RB seat.
9 months of posts doesn't show that LOL. But I guess flexibility is ok... Are you the sane with AB's matches???
Batman:
I think Gasly has put a strong case to take Perez seat next year.
I agree with that 100%. Perez is a very good driver, but thats all he is. Many others are as well. No idea about Bottas, as his finishes are scripted. Perez after a bedding in period, and allowing for Max being arguably the best driver on the grid, needed to be within 3/10 every session , but he hasn't been. Gasly has grown a lot, like Max, he is outdriving the car. Perez at his age, wont improve. Cancel him, Gasly goes to RBR and add new blood.
Batman: This would be the best case scenario so my preferred winners can win. Gasly and Bottas won't be allowed to fight if the top dogs are running. I think Gasly has put a strong case to take Perez seat next year.
Well it will shape up for an interesting evening (for a Honda fan). I may even get up and watch it live.
Yes, its a shake up alright. But the reality is Mercedes are a faster car and this is a power circuit. Its about the cars not the drivers.
Merc have what they consider is the optimal setup, RBR have a compromised setup to artificially add straight line speed. Thats likely to compromise aero grip which will compromise tyre wear and temp.
RBR's lap seems to have exceeded Mercedes, after allowing for the tow. Down to RBR's tyre wear now with the lower wing. Soft and a long hard stint perhaps. Maybe RBR do a Mercedes and go soft medium and soft to ace the last stint
Lando awesome. What happened to Bottas?
For those who have access to BBC iPlayer and have no other way to watch, I understand that Sky UK have done a deal to allow it to be shown on BBC Channel 4.
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Just watched the post Quali. Really interesting watching Karun's side by side on Max's and Lewis's lap.
1. The tow was largely a non event, it gained a few feet, a couple of metres maybe. Backed up by his Q3 lap, , was running the same time till that he backed out of it
2. Max had more grip than Lewis, thats where most of the lap delta came from
Maybe softs will be ok at night, Maybe Lewis's mediums my or may not be 100% ideal at nigh (if assuming its ideal for the softs) , given that quali and the race are about the same time/track temp.
Interesting. But what surprises me is RBR low wing compromises grip, but at night it hasn't by the looks.
(PS no posts here after quali. Whenever Max wins/gets pole, there are no posts. Every time. Thats more reliable than a Rolex watch :-) )
insane: I think you're right with your earlier comments re tyre wear, going to get real interesting towards the ends of the stints!
Lando has done some great starts, so I think both Max and Lewis are at risk of getting out dragged to the first corner/bend. We've seen at Monza, I think, that the Maclaren is very quick on power circuits.
Wow, couldn't have asked for a better scenario for the final race though, hopefully it's a cracker of a race!
if only there is alternate commentary. i cannot stand crofty who commentate in support of only british drivers.

Yeah, that goes for all of them. I get patriotism, but they are media providers. The FP sessions were all about Lewis mainly and Max to a lesser degree. I thought there were other drivers, but having watched every minute of all sessions Im not so sure

Im an RBR fan, and a Max fan, but overall Im into sport. A great sporting event, im fine with the result, win lose or draw.
Lando, George are really top notch. Lando has proven that, George not yet, but he looks the goods. In GP or F2 i didnt like Lando as he was a whiner, but I take that back as he is delivery in spades.
Max and Lewis there are a raft of risks and rewards. I expect Lewis to win as he has the power car, and the ideal starting tyre, whereas RBR/Max are well behind the eight ball, and trying to artificially manufacture speed to counteract Mercedes who are running the ideal strategy.
Ive seen many races that ere hyped up, only to dissolve on turn 1, hope thats not the case.
With McLaren improving, George getting a real car, and Honda improving, can't wait for the pre season tests.

If I was Andreas Seidle or Zac Brown I'd be telling Lando to absolutely send one on the start/opening lap! The last thing either Hamilton or Verstappen want is to be losing the race on the first corner. Better to lose a position and fight for the title than lose the championship. Norris can use that to his advantage and be the aggressor. And Norris is a clean racer so wont do anything utterly ridiculous. Its worth the risk for him. The win doesn't matter to Lewis or Verstappen - they're just interested in beating each other. I hope Norris goes for it - he's deserved a win this year (Russia and Belgium spring to mind).
