I suggest changing it to the Canterbury Knights, Then the can keep the imagery and the guys on the horses. Plus Knights or portrayed better in history. We still give out Knighthoods today.

However, the only option is to call it "Canterbury Super Rugby Team" that way almost no-one could be offended.
It's just a name change for pete's sake, not the end of life as we know it. And it's not about not offending anyone; it's about offering a humanitarian gesture to a community in grief following the worst mass killing in modern NZ history - is that such a terrible thing?
