Interestingly I was about to comment about my current issue, due to my work credit card being issued from overseas, we have no paywave, or effective pin. This has meant occasionally I put my card in and it doesn't get recognised, which isn't the end of the world as I press the call button and quote my booking reference and they open the barrier pretty quickly.

However after exiting last week, I arrived this week and put my card in, and it said card has already entered. Which means it wasn't closed off for last week. So call button, barrier up. I emailed them during the week as I have a very early entry next week and I'm not sure what their actual hours are. I don't want to have to press the call button at 5am and have no one answer.

Long story short, I emailed them this week to check and reset my card and they came back to me just before to say it had been done.

So persevere. Though I'm not waiting on a refund, previously it had been perhaps a week or so from memory.

And I've said before - it wasn't me that did this, my wife did this. She was unaware of the card I used to make the booking on. Human error, we're not all perfect.

I get it can take time for the refund to happen, for sure. But their e-mails shouldn't say "1-3 days" when they actually could say "up to 10 days". That I would be totally fine with. The original person hasn't contacted me back either, which is pretty poor.

I guess they've set the expectation and I'm disappointed they're not living up to it.

Also re the call centre person - fair comment, I used to work in customer service myself and it can really suck sometimes. But she (from my listening to her) just sounded like she could really do with a new job 😀

Anyway I'll stop harping on about it, I don't think it's going to accomplish anything.

Mystery solved.

Turns out the credit was applied to the credit card I made the original booking on, not the debit card that was used accidentally.

I've asked if they can transfer it but I doubt they will be able to (from a credit card to a cheque account) - most likely I think I'll just have to end up withdrawing the cash off my credit card and then depositing it into my cheque account.

Cripes, what a cluster - but at least I know what's happened now.

You actually asked if they can move the credit?

Of course they will not be able to move the credit from one of your accounts to another

I decided to leave it as it is.

My partner used to work for a bank and it is doable but too much hassle. I'll just have to buy computer parts on my credit card instead 😀

Do NOT withdraw cash from your credit card. It will trigger interest from the day you do that and in some instances remove the interest period for all the outstanding debt on your credit card.

Not all cards work this way, but on most it is.

Yep, I had that pointed out after making my post above. Like I say, I'll just buy some new PC parts now instead 😀
