Just saw this. It is utterly loathsome. If true, it is despicable and indefensible. But this isn't a left/right issue. It is thugs ripping at the fabric of society, regardless of the label they wear. It is also why people like those fascist stirrers should not be welcomed here. This is precisely the kind of response they want and try to engender.

If what idiots post on twitter (edit - Facebook) was to be ignored, the world would be a better place.

If this idiot did what he said (phoned in a bomb threat), then he should be prosecuted. AFAIK there's no evidence that he did what he said.

In any case, what he did or didn't do doesn't make one iota of difference to the fact that Southern and Molyneux are alt-right / fascists.

It should in no way influence perception of the message from Southern/Molyneux - but of course it does - it validates them as it implies that all resistance is violent.

Putin and Trump use this method to validate their own bullsh!t.

Both sides of a political debate will use all techniques available. Logical fallacies, ad-hominen attacks, dog-piles (google it), selective use of statistics. These are all common political techniques, and no group of people seems to be above using any of them.

As humans we love to define in-groups and out-groups and then exclude/denounce/attack the out-group. That's why we have -isms, fan-violence, religious conflict, and social media flare-ups over politics. In-groups are great for motivating humans to behave in ways they ordinarily wouldn't.

Even those who genuinely value and advocate for exclusivity and equality will be motivated to some extent by defining their own in-group(s).

I am opposed to all forms of racism, including against whites, but I just can’t see race in itself as an issue. It only becomes an issue when people use superficial differences in appearance as an excuse to treat each other differently. I am ‘white’ but I couldn’t care less if my race goes extinct or not, except in the sense that any loss of biological uniqueness is to be regretted. But there is already such blending of the races that very few of us are pure anything anymore.

White supremacists like our fascist visitors are either evil profiteers or pathetic morons, or sometimes both. Their ideas are stupid and their beliefs are evil. No race is superior to any other. No group of humans, whether defined by race or any other criteria, should be treated differently from any other group. Everyone deserves respect. Except pathetic racists. They deserve contempt. And maybe, if you are feeling generous, a little pity.
