There's one point in the Trump-Biden 'benefits and shortcomings' controversy that's never mentioned: Biden's job, at it's core, is just to make decisions that benefit the country. He doesn't need to ride around the block on a unicycle every morning or recite the Constitution backwards - he has drivers and advisors for those tasks. All he has to do is use his wealth of experience in politics, governing and leadership to do the right thing for America, and it seems to me he does that very ably.

This guy argues a similar point: https://www.rawstory.com/trump-biden-hur/?cx_testId=6&cx_testVariant=cx_1&cx_artPos=4&cx_experienceId=EXC93HV4HK4I#cxrecs_s

Yeah, Alex Henderson's nailed it. The message needs to be posted in mile-high letters of fire in the skies over every city, town and hamlet in the Disunited States.

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

The opinion was written by Paul Krugman of NY Times. Alex Henderson simply reported on that op-ed. Having read the NY Times article, all the key takeaways including the incredibly poignant point that people piling on Biden need to take a look at themselves and stop what they're doing comes from the original.

I'm not so sure about that. Look at his unwavering support for what Netanyahu is doing in Gaza (by which I mean not just supporting him in principle but shipping him the arms and munitions he's using to do it), over the opposition of his own party, which is seriously hurting the US' standing in the world and accelerating their long-running decline in status as a world leader and will come back to bite them in the future when every despot who wants to liquidate a group he doesn't like can say "well, the US was OK with in it Gaza, they can't object when we do it". This seems a lot more like "stubborn old man refuses to listen to reason" than doing the right thing for the US.

Biden has a specific topic as does the 2024 election.

The lawyer who made Trump $83m poorer

"In this exclusive interview, attorney Roberta Kaplan discusses her recent victory in a defamation case against former President Donald Trump, where a verdict of $83 million was awarded to her client, E. Jean Carroll. Join George Conway, Sarah Longwell, Roberta Kaplan and Matthew Craig in the newest episode of George Conway Explains it All (to Sarah Longwell)."

Roberta Kaplan speaking: "In the first deposition I had all the evidence I had him saying these lies on video

[Trump] realized as the case went on that kind of we had the goods on him. He got increasingly unhappy as the deposition went on.

I said 'sir we have more topic I want to cover and then we'll break for lunch, if that's okay with you?'

[Trump] looked at me and he said 'why do we have to break for lunch? Let's just go straight through this is a waste of my time.'

You could kind of see the wheel spinning in his brain and he said 'well you're here at Maralago. What do you think you're going to do for lunch?'

I said to him 'well you know I I raised this question with your attorney yesterday sir and they graciously offered to provide us with [a free] lunch'.

At which point there was a huge pile of documents exhibits sitting in front of him. [Trump] took the pile and he just threw it across the table "

Trump speaks at a campaign rally in Conway, South Carolina, on 10 February 2024.

The Guardian -  Donald Trump says he would encourage Russia to attack Nato allies who pay too little

11 Feb 2024

Seeking a second presidency as the Republicans’ presumptive 2024 White House nominee, Donald Trump has said he would “encourage” Russia to attack any of the US’s NATO allies whom he considers to have not met their financial obligations.

The White House described the remarks as “appalling and unhinged”.

Trump made the statement on Saturday during a campaign rally in Conway, South Carolina, ahead of the state’s Republican presidential preference primary on 24 February.

The former president has voiced misgivings about aid to Ukraine as it defends itself from the invasion launched by Russia in February 2022 – as well as to the existence of NATO, which the US has committed to defending when necessary. ...

A very "useful idiot"   🙄

Actually, it would be wishful thinking the he couldn't get any worse!

He always seems intent of making the next gaff worse than the last!

  • Donald Trump has always been a Narcissistic sociopath.

  • He is now developing dementia, as did his father at the same age.

  • Demented people often become disinhibited.

  • Disinhibited sociopaths become more dangerous.

  • His cult followers lap it up, reinforcing Trump's malignant behaviour.

  • A dangerous downhill spiral.

God Help America (and the rest of us)  😦

Let me check the definition on that..

"an unintentional act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator; a blunder."

Nope. None of that fits, sorry.

Wrong definition, any boatie will know it's "a spar to which the head of a fore-and-aft sail is bent". I don't know if Trump ever manufactured gaffs, but if he did I'm sure they'd be the biggest, straightest, most cromulent, definitely the best, best ever, best gaff you've ever used. So good, so good, winning all the way.

Sideface: The Guardian -  Donald Trump says he would encourage Russia to attack Nato allies who pay too little

Trump : “One of the presidents of a big country stood up and said, ‘Well, sir, if we don’t pay, and we’re attacked by Russia, will you protect us?’” Trump said, adding “I said, ‘You didn’t pay, you’re delinquent?’ No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”

Here's an old poem for Trump:

"Oho!" said the pot to the kettle;
"You are dirty and ugly and black!
Sure no one would think you were metal,
Except when you're given a crack."

"Not so! not so!" kettle said to the pot;
"'Tis your own dirty image you see;
For I am so clean – without blemish or blot –
That your blackness is mirrored in me."[

... and of course Donald always pays his bills (unless bankrupt), with the possible exception of paying his lawyers ...   😏
