Fred99:

n One Tweet, Donald Trump Just Spread Fake History, Libeled a Hero, and Admired an Alleged War Crime.

The telling thing about this article is it's from "the National Review", one of the most conservative magazine in the US.

Think the opposite of the Huffington Post

So not a good sign for Trump

I agree but Trump is stupid. I'm pretty sure that story was debunked on Snopes a few years ago. I first came across it when that poor Jordanian pilot was burned alive in a cage. I have to admit thinking about ISIS and considering whether "two wrongs can make a right after all".

And what?
Trolling? No! Stating a fact about what I thought being a just response to those ISIS animals when they burned that man alive. Don't like that some of us may happen to feel like that on occasion when shown such atrocities? The world is not a luvy luvy place. End of. Now go back to your Trump bashing, it is more fun to watch.

I didn't see any statement about what you thought would be a just response.

When Trump saw the emptiness of his White House, he wept for there were no more people left to fire.

That's good news.  The alt-right punters at Breitbart are spewing - condemning Trump as "finished" - he's sold out to "globalists" etc.

If that attitude holds, it'll be interesting to see the effect on presidential approval polls from losing the support of the alt-right.

But I wouldn't write Bannon off completely yet - he's very smart and has some serious backing.  If he comes up with a new venture - and that ends up being pro-Trump, his followers will fall in line.

I have to quote this:

The remaining members of a presidential arts and humanities panel resigned on Friday in yet another sign of growing national protest of President Trump’s recent comments on the violence in Charlottesville.

Members of the President’s Committee are drawn from Broadway, Hollywood, and the broader arts and entertainment community and said in a letter to Trump that “Your words and actions push us all further away from the freedoms we are guaranteed.”

“Reproach and censure in the strongest possible terms are necessary following your support of the hate groups and terrorists who killed and injured fellow Americans in Charlottesville,” the commissioners wrote in a letter sent to the White House on Friday morning. “The false equivalencies you push cannot stand. The Administration’s refusal to quickly and unequivocally condemn the cancer of hatred only further emboldens those who wish America ill. We cannot sit idly by, the way that your West Wing advisors have, without speaking out against your words and actions.”

“Supremacy, discrimination, and vitriol are not American values,” they added. “Your values are not American values. We must be better than this. We are better than this. If this is not clear to you, then we call on you to resign your office, too.”

Does anyone else think another civil war could actually be brewing in America?

Hmm ..... Civil war or Media war?

You have to recognize what is not being reported and what is being blown out of all proportions. Sadly people are buying into it and social media has a role extending it.

And what is civil war nowadays? Where is it played out? Is it played out on the streets like last weekend in Charlottesville, or is it played out over keyboards for weeks thereafter because people are nowadays unwilling to accept that others are entitled to a differing point of view to theirs? Is Charlottesville just a sideshow?

Keep an eye on the news headlines over the next few hours, especially with regards to Boston. I suspect that we are going to see a repeat of last weekend. Two US (domestic feed) news channels are discussing their concerns about extremism attendance, two have their heads buried in the sand. But these are American news feeds here, driven by political agendas, which in turn creates ratings.

Now let's have another look at Bannon. Already back at Breitbart and it will be interesting to see what his role becomes if there is indeed serious trouble in Boston. Will he become the major spokesperson for Trump, independently away from the WH?

I note Trump has been very quiet about Bannon so far, even though Bannon has supposedly stated that he believes that "This Presidency is over".

Long winded reply I guess, but I believe the US has been involved in its own type of modern civil war for a number of years. The Trump factor, however, has made the world stand up and take a lot more notice.
