How's this for cold, calculating premeditation:

from the Texan gunman's manifesto:

Gear

Main gun: AK47 (WASR 10) - I realized pretty quickly that this isn't a great choice since it's the civilian version of the AK47. It's not designed to shoot rounds quickly, so it overheats massively after about 100 shots fired in quick succession.

I'll have to use a heat-resistant glove to get around this.

8m3 bullet: This bullet, unlike pretty much any other 7.62x39 bullet, usually fragments like a pistol hollow point when shot out of an AK47 at the cost of penetration. ...

Cloudflare have *finally* booted one particular site off their DDoS protection platform. But as always it's all about the money for Cloudflare rather than morals. They plan to IPO next month and don't want the bad press.

I look forward to the day Geekzone moves away from Cloudflare.

Here is the Cloudflare blog post and reasoning for removing said site from their service.

Doesn't mention anything about the IPO at all. I'm sure that is completely unrelated.

So you are saying a privately owned business made a business decision that would benefit them.... weird, I am sure that's never happened before.

No, I am saying a business to emphatically say in their press release that it "The rationale is simple: they have proven themselves to be lawless and that lawlessness has caused multiple tragic deaths"

It's complete and utter BS. It is only about the bad press and potential impact to their IPO. Nothing else.

Their abuse procedure is explicitly designed to absolve themselves of any responsibility. They didn't care when Christchurch happened, they don't care about the numerous other White Supremacist, Terrorist, Revenge p.rn and all sorts of other vile sites.

When it comes to a Venn Diagram of the most vile sites on the internet the title would be Cloudflare customers. This isn't by accident.

I agree with you, but unfortunately there's an endless stream of "internet entrepreneurs" who'll offer to fill the vacuum.

It'd be interesting to see who's funding the (8chan) site.  It appears that it probably isn't advertisers.

I'm not so sure. What I would expect is a game of whack-a-white-supremacist as without DDoS protection they (8chan) will be at the mercy of people DDoSing them, which in turn will frustrate the hosting companies.

Sure they will probably operate on TOR but as is the case with other sites once they gain a reputation for attracting attacks the only place they can avoid it is to become TOR only. Then the overall user experience turns to complete rubbish and the traffic drops off. As was the case with the other site kicked off Cloudflare in 2017. That only happened because the sites admin said CF supported them, so again for PR reasons not because they are utterly vile did they get kicked off.

The thing about it is, Cloudflare nor anyone else needs to tolerate these vile sites as all they need is an Acceptable Use Policy (like everyone else on the internet has) and just kick them off.

But Cloudflare don't because they are without any moral compass only focused on the money.

Indirect Amazon affiliate commissions are apparently quite important to the site:

It seems that Voxility who were the upstream provider for 8chan, daily stormer and a few other vile sites protected by Bitmitigate and Epik Hosting have been de-peered.

The shooter has been sending snail mail to 4chan users from prison.

The 4chan user (or his local network) got doxxed by his hero via snail-mail.
As he's in Russia where these days opponents of fascism - rather than nazis - are the enemy, nothing will happen.

Prosecution seeks three to four weeks delay, so trial won't coincide with Ramadan.

From Gizmodo:

Commenters on 4Chan initially doubted the letter’s authenticity, saying “it looks like it was written by a preschooler.” But prison officials in New Zealand have confirmed that the letter is real.

Haha - what a burn from his fellow morons from the "master race".
