Fred99: The show is off - the owner of the venue has apparently pulled the pin and cancelled the event.

Venue owner not having it after finding out more about the topics:

NewsTalk: "We're not having the show," said Powerstation owner Gabrielle Mullins. She said she did not agree with the two speakers' message. The company had been contacted at short notice about hosting Southern and Molyneux and she knew nothing about them. After receiving complaints, the venue decided to cancel. "It goes against quite a lot of things that we say," Mullins said. "They can say whatever they want but personally I don't want it in my venue."

Southern on the Powerststion cancellation:

TVNZ: "I truly believe that there were strong forces involved, whether it be government calling this guy, threats, the threat of his windows being smashed, maybe the police telling him your whole place is going to be destroyed if you hold this," Ms Southern said.

I think it's more likely the venue owner received calls from many musicians with events booked there saying they would cancel future powerstation bookings if the event went ahead.

I truly believe there were strong forces involved, like the basic decency of ordinary New Zealanders and the forceful rejection of ideas as dumb and loathsome as those of this putrid pair.

Or just as the venue owner stated - they didn't know much about them, then found out what scum they truly are, and made the call they did. Occam's razor - that's the given explanation, a simple uncomplicated explanation, and with lack of any evidence it's wrong - seems good for purpose.

Southern and Molyneux are trying to monetise their loss by claiming that "there must have been" threats of violence - without one shred of evidence that there was. They're also claiming that they're victims. Of what exactly? Being "out free-speeched" and "free-marketed" out of town - LOL.

Just because you’re ignorant of the evidence, doesn’t necessarily mean that there is none.
