kingdragonfly:
I've been around a lot of evangelists. Many want to be about the "rapture," the end time event when all Christian believers who are alive, along with the resurrected dead believers, will rise "in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air".
There are American ranchers who raise red heifers, reddish-brown cows. More specifically, a two years old cow who can be air shipped quickly to Israel and burnt on short notice to the entrance to the tabernacle. The condition of the cow must be perfect, and had never used a yoke.
Turning the world to sh1t, even bringing about a full-blown nuclear war, is good: it brings the end times closer.
It's not a small fringe group either.
From the Washington Post
Half of evangelicals support Israel because they believe it is important for fulfilling end-times prophecy...LifeWay Research conducted a poll evaluating the views of evangelical Americans on issues related to Israel and the politics of the Middle East. ... Among the questions was one about the biblical promise of the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants. Two-thirds of respondents strongly agreed that the promise was an eternal one from God.
But it’s also worth picking out another part of what Jeffress said to CNN. Jerusalem, he said, is “the touchstone of prophecy.” That prophecy is the biblical prophecy of the return of Jesus Christ and the beginning of the Rapture — the end times.
So you are saying ... evangelicals like Trump because they think he will hasten the end of the world?
