I don't know about "best", but Bit Innovate sells them. You'll need to take cash into an ASB.

Bitcoins are interesting I like the idea however they do seem to be rather volatile with trading

I'm waiting for the next crash. It dropped down to like $3.00 a coin at the end of last year, sky-rocketed to $200.00+ USD per coin then plummeted back down to $40.00 USD per coin.

Some people made 10s of thousands in return on their GPU based bitcoin mining gear at the peak.

Difficulty to mine these days is too difficult for the guy with two cards in their gaming machine and the power to burn. Buying low and selling super high is the way to go at the moment. The only way to make any money with mining would be to invest in some serious GPU gear and join a pool at the moment.

Definitely worth looking in to if you don't know what it is all about.

I had some, acquired when they were at $6 each, sold when they reached $80 each, so happy with the return.

I saw it as low as $56 so I wouldn't be surprised if it dipped into the 40s. It has recovered a bit though and is actually making it's way back up.

It dipped to $40 on exchanges when MTGox halted trading due to "ddos"

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

From what I read on stuff they're used to buy drugs on a site called "silk road", over via the anonymous TOR network. I think they can be used for other things too, like increasing your power bill from "mining" these "coins".

Transactions from wallet to wallet are instantaneous. Only use an online wallet for trading purposes. Keep a physical wallet on a memory stick or something. Online wallets are suseptable to attack.

They aren't instant, They require a new block to be mined and for that miner to accept your transactions. This is a minimum of 10 minutes and alot of people say wait for 3 conformations. Also with SatoshiDice spamming transactions alot of miners aren't processing transactions without fees so even getting 1 conformation can take a while

Bitinnovate would be the best option, however be aware they require cash deposit rather than a bank transfer(as it can be reversed). The other option is probably going via gpforums from people selling.
