i too had trouble with task scheduler but just wrote a .bat file and pointed scheduler to that and works great now i am very greatful for this excellent piece of software

Hi all,

A newbie to all this DTV and EPG stuff so please excuse any dumb questions. Can I get the EPG data for the Telstra Clear cable program's via this - given that all the channels are either FV or supplied via that "other" supplier? I'm in Wellington and about to receive a Mythbuntu setup - can that use this EPG data? I was thinking of setting up a separate Windoze box to handle the EPG.

Is it possible for someone to point me in the direction of how to get this set up? I'm incapable of getting my noggin around some of this at the moment.

I just want my guide grabber to start working again now that it's decided to stop working.

Anyone got a working solution for Wellington DVB-T that i can just grab a copy of and sleep easier?

Ok, here is the file I am using for Wellington Mt Kaukau (removed the DVB-S stuff):

# Output - specifies the path of the output file. Default is XMLTV.xml in the executable directory.

Output:FreeviewMHEG.xml

# Tuner - specifies number of tuner to use. Only needed if more than one tuner.
# Default is to use first available.
# Run utility with command line /tuners to get list of tuners and numbers.

#Tuner:2

# Timeouts - in seconds - optional - defaults are 10 and 300 respectively
# Param1 - maximum wait time to lock signal after tuning
# Param2 - length of time to collect data before changing frequency

Timeouts:20,300

# Frequencies for terrestrial
# Param1 - frequency
# Param2 - bandwidth
# Param3 - Y = collect MHEG data if present N = only collect EIT data
# Parameter has no effect on frequencies not carrying MHEG data but must be present)

# TVNZ
Frequency:690000,8,Y
# Mediaworks
Frequency:706000,8,Y
# Kordia
Frequency:778000,8,Y

I am using Big Screen EPG to load the file FreeviewMHEG.xml. Also, as noted before, you might have to change security for the folder if you are writing this file in the program files folder. Or use a full folder/file to put somewhere else.

OK ignore my laziness - managed a search and assuming I can work out the V thing (I assume means vertical rather than horizontal polarisation from the brief wikipedia look I have had) I should be able to work this out.

There's not "polarisation" on DVB-T. I assume you are talking DVB-S?
