Oh well, thats one more local importer than I thought there was.
Personally, i wonder whether streaming will go the same way - everyone and his dog starting up their own service, the constant price increases, adverts, the whole I'm sure that was there yesterday thing, emails from Netflix etc advertising their latest and greatest which is invariably crap...viva Las 4K!

Unfortunately that article is definitely "how it is" for physical media collector's in NZ. I think that most of us are already resigned to importing, which opens up a wonderful selection of films that just aren't available in NZ and can be quite reasonable price wise, if we wait for sales and get free shipping etc. Maybe people will get tired of all of the different streaming services, and look to physical media again, like a lot of people (my son included) have with vinyl.
On a brighter note; Eureka! I managed to get The Matrix 4-Movie Collection from the JBAU 1-Day sale (I'm persistent 😁). They accepted the coupon code for an extra 10% discount as well, so 30% off altogether. Total cost was AU$54.63 (NZ$95 at JBNZ) including shipping. An average of less than AU$14 per film... bargain!

I've imported a few golden (I like to think) oldies recently, and a few not so old, probably mentioned already. Can always go the old fashioned way and record stuff. With a bit of effort you can get a pretty decent result. Run your own server like Emby (or Plex if you must), and you're good to go.

I looked in Emby and apparently I've got 400 4K movies. That might explain why I seen to be running out of 4Ks I actually want to buy. Guess there's a few Director's cuts and Extended version in there as well, but still...

Thanks for the heads up! I managed to get 3 titles not available at JBNZ (after a lot of trial and error with shipping restrictions) 😃

I digitized a lot of my old Blu-rays and 4K discs before selling them. I have deleted the ones that I have re-purchased, mainly to free up room on my Hard Drives. I use Infuse (great for Apple users) to stream them to my Apple TV 4K. They take up a lot of Hard Drive space though; I don't like to compress them.

+1 for Infuse, plus its multi platform so I can access my library on the ipad and Mac around the house ...
Thanks for the notification Movieman!
Ordered 6x Items from JB AU - five of which unable to ship to NZ - and the package posted to my brother in QLD.
Waiting for these sales is really imperative in order to keep cost per title down.
Cheers!

Its really handy if you're not planning on sharing with someone at another address. Plex would probably be useful for that. But, for use in an Apple home environment, its brilliant.

Been having the same problem with the Ozzie site all week.
Can’t seem to get anything to move from the cart to the payment process without the “can’t ship to your region” message.
I’ve given up on their site now. I think it needs some IT boffen to give their international payment system an overhaul.
