Can I just check, that for the new release where it says the INI file needs only one Frequency, that where I had previously

Frequency:12456000,22500,3/4,H,MHEG5
Frequency:12483000,22500,3/4,H,MHEG5
Frequency:12646000,12600,5/6,V,MHEG5

I now only need (for example):

Frequency:12456000,22500,3/4,H,MHEG5
#Frequency:12483000,22500,3/4,H,MHEG5
#Frequency:12646000,12600,5/6,V,MHEG5

I ran it with all three "in" and it exited with a Code 6, but with just the one listed it seemed to work OK

I also tried running the OpenTV option to see what happens but the XML Created was just blank and the log showed a whole lot of No Data, but it "found" 139 stations

Yes, you only need one frequency.

That list of tabled ID's etc is only produced if it did an EIT collection - what does the first bit of the log for the run look like.

OpenTV is only available on Pay TV freq 12519000 (satellite) here. It will always find the stations because the data for those is just part of the DVB standard, not part of any of the EPG protocols.

I'll try soon ... its doing the scheduled collection at the moment :)
It might be the grabbing of data for SBS etc on the vertical polarity which is giving it grief.
PS. When it had done this I CTRL or Q out of the collection and tried running it again ... the machine crashed and rebooted. Tried it a few times and each time it would reboot, so would appear defeintly somnething about having it accessing the card while maybe its in use.

I didn't look at your post closely enough and the readme probably isn't clear either.

You need one frequency for each collection type.

So if you want a complete EPG for Freeview and Pay TV you need 2 frequency lines. One points to an MHEG5 frequency for Freeview and the other points to the OpenTV frequency for Pay TV which is 12519000 (you could collect EIT for Pay TV from any Pay TV frequency but it's currently broken - see an earlier post from today).

Your 2 frequency lines should be

Frequency:12456000,22500,3/4,MHEG5
Frequency:12519000,22500,3/4,OPENTV

Sorry I have misunderstood the value of OPenTV. I had guessed it might be an alternative to MHEG and EIT ... and when you said it might have series info etc ... you peeked my interest.

No, the categories probably won't be right. It needs someone to update the Program Categories NZL.ini file.

I was hoping someone could contribute by updating it. A guy on Oz sorted theirs out before I did the release. You can get some assistance fron the log where it lists some category info for used and unused categories.

Any help appreciated. If you can put together a file that would be good.

It doesn't matter if it's not 100% to start with, we can always keep updating it.

Remember this is only for an OpenTV collection ie Pay TV - there are no program categories broadcast for Freeview using MHEG5.

Is it possible to exclude Stations in the Open TV Satellite NZL.ini

Seems the Stations: option is now used for renaming and not excluding?

Be nice to trim some fat so its easier to process :)

the Stations: option (s) can and still does exclude stations as did the prior version

from section 2.07 of readme.txt
Function To exclude a station or to change the channel ID and/or station name.

Format Station:network ID, transport ID, service ID // To exclude a station

though a GUI to make the INI would be sweet

For all of you following this thread or using this tool, Big Screen EPG has been officially released so is no longer in beta. - which also means it's now a paid application.

Big Screen EPG is one of the tools available to load the XMLTV file generated by the EPG Collector tool.
