Just picked up and set up a 55" LG TV from PB Tech. After tuning it on form the first time I was shocked to see the screen, it's broken!!
I was very careful in carrying it and setting it up so it must have happened at PB Tech.  See picture.  Now, I will ring them tomorrow but any suggestions or has anyone experienced anything similar. Glass is perfect so the damage seems on the internal screen.  There is no damage signs whatsoever on the TV body or the box. It was packed perfectly when I took it out of the box.  I am so disappointed as I was very excited about it.  I hope PB Tech replace it as it definitely happened at their end or at the manufacturer.

Just be honest and respectful to them, they will sort it out.

Just tell them it was broken on arrival. If you get all angry the will think you did it, just stay cool calm and collected.

Thanks Steve will do. But how could it happen as there is no damage signs on the box or TV body at all, it was packer perfectly when I opened it up.
Should I just pack it back in the box as I doubt they would want to come and have a look, I can show then the above picture.

It could have had a significant impact from truck to truck, remember they come from Korea so there is a lot of shipping going on.

Take a good few pics, box it back up best you can and take it back as soon as you can.

It's not common, but I see a few tvs like this at work every year.

Manufacturers know it can happen, they just try to minimize where possible.

It's been shipped thousands of kilometres around the world, plenty of time for it to be dropped or shocked somewhere along the way.

That's interesting.

When I bought mine the shop (100% appliance I think), they actually take it out of the box and tested it first in front of you.

I was told that was their policy to avoid issue like this.

Good luck. Be honest with them and keep us updated.

PBTech seem, based purely on my experience with them over the years, to have an exceptionally high DOA rate, but they are generally very good at sorting it out.

Ouch, that sucks to have that happen.

Dealing with returns is a PITA even when you dont have to hope they believe you.

Basically, they will look after you.
As the packaging is in mint condition, they'll simply get a credit from LG and call it 'concealed damage' or so forth.
Make sure you get it back to them in mint condition and you should be fine.
Also... I still find it weird that PB Tech sells TV's, but that's me.

I find it weird that they are still called TV's when they are basically just computers.

As long as you don't have to pay to send it back, and they don't delay shipping you a new one.

I had no trouble returning a faulty laptop to them recently - they replaced it with no fuss.

TV has been replaced by PBTech. They had to do a proper inspection of the broken unit which is fair enough. +1 to PB

I, too, find it strange they are selling TVs. I'm sure the other big box retailers will be having words to LG about it.
Possible they just bought an end of model bulk lot (PB seems to do quite a bit of that).

I'm guessing that's the plan, simply pop the TV's on the website and make sure they win the PriceSpy war on a daily basis.
It would annoy the retailers who carry the products day-in-day-out, especially if they pay more for them!
But the consumer won't care, as long as they get their product.
