Hi there !

I want to know if anyone here has ever purchased an EGREAT or Popcorn hour product here in NZ. I am after a network media tank (preferably one of the two) mentioned above. I am a proud user of A110 but am always after the latest and greatest. I am not sure if we can purchase them here in NZ. Please advise me if anyone is aware of someone selling it here locally. I'd rather buy it locally and support local business rather than getting it from overseas to be very honest, and also i don't have to worry about the warranty.

Don't worry guys, i did my research and figured out that there was a reseller of PCH and EGREAT products here in NZ (www.aiwa.co.nz) spoke to person there and hopefully i might order my EGREAT M34 or even a C-200

It does seem expensive compared to the US $299 if you buy direct.

What do you do for power if you order direct from popcorn hour? It would have an american plug I would think?

Sorry if i have confused you mate. I mean thats one other problem when you buy it direct from overseas. The local importer have assured me that every unit that they ship, will have NZ power coonvertor. Cheers

Yes I think that too. Definitely the price of C200 is on a higher side. My wild guess would be that they are trying to cash in considering that they have it in stock, so you don’t fall under some sort of batch allocation, its here and all ready for you to buy. Also that they offer local support and warranty, which is very important and piece of mind for some people. I think $699 (incl GST) would have been a better price, what do you guys think?

Anyways, I ordered my EGREAT M34 from them and so far it is all good. I have been informed that I should see it sometime later today or first thing tomorrow morning. The guy I spoke to was really helpful and was willing to update the firmware for me at no cost.

I really wanted C-200

Maybe you could write us a short review of the EGREAT M34 when you get it. They look like a fairly cool unit.

Stock available in NZ, and a NZ power cable is certainly worth something, but the difference in price is significant.

At current exchange rates buying direct is about NZ $410 (US $299 with NZ $1 = US 73c). You have to ask if the NZ power cable and quicker delivery is really worth an extra NZ $300!

Yes sure I'll definitely do it once i get my hands on it. From what I have been told by the sales person and whatever i've read looks like its going to rock but i'll add more. I've just looked at my order and the status is "processing" yeeehaaaa... i am very excited.

You are right but i think you have missed out the frieght here. They will charge additional $49 USD to ship it here. Even though yes, i think $300 is pushing it a bit far. I don't know about others but i'd be willing to pay at most $100 more but thats about it.

yeah they all do come with NZ/AU plugs from Popcornhour.com :)

If yours doesn't though, it's only a standard mini jug 2 pin plug anyway? like $7.50 from Jaycar or DSE

Also, judging my Aiwas other prices, I would go somewhere else.

$25 for a 1.5m HDMi cable....ouch
