I understand that if one cancels a VDSL connection within 12 months there is a fee (IIRC $299) however I had a connection in my old flat and then transferred that connection to my new place - if I cancel my connection is the 12 month contract based on when I first signed up with Spark or from when the reconnection took place at my new flat?

Normally when you move house they won't charge you an early termination fee for your old house provided you sign up to a new 12 month contract so the 12 months would start from the date of reconnection at your new property.

Ah, all good - I'll hold out till November/December then given that it is only a couple of months away.
