But my neochick likes to hide in boxes.
Neochick: This time the guy admitted that yes, they are managing ALL traffic, and was not sure how I could play this other game, and that my only option would be to change plan. Which for me unfortunately is not an option.
Big Time is a traffic-managed plan unlike any other in New Zealand. On this plan there are no data caps and no overage charges, it's just a broadband plan that lets everyone in the house use the Internet as often as they like - without paying a fortune for it.
However, because of this we manage all the traffic on Big Time. When the network is busy (generally inside the hours of 9am and 2am) you may noticed reduced speeds; in particular you are likely to see reduced speeds in relation to file sharing and online gaming.

Don't take life too seriously. Remember, no one gets out alive.
Neochick: I rang Telecom today after watching my ping go from 200ms to 5k as the clock ticked from 8.59 to 9.00am
I presented him with the information I had received from NCSoft, the information that another mmorpg I have started playing solely because I can't play Guild Wars works just fine, and the fact that use of a VPN caused my ping to drop back to 600ms, (but this has started to DC all the time).
This time the guy admitted that yes, they are managing ALL traffic, and was not sure how I could play this other game, and that my only option would be to change plan. Which for me unfortunately is not an option.
So I guess I'm stuck getting up early and playing before 9. But I had to give the guy kudos for actually admitting it was their doing this time.
doozy: Guild Wars is sorted.
