I just got the Huawei HG630b to replace my Technicolor TG589vn V2 as there was a hardware fault, anyway I got the new modem connected it all up and it works, but I am now trying to port forward, I read the guide on the Telecom website and went into Advanced - NAT and then port mapping and filled it in accordingly, and then tried to forward 3389 for remote desktop and 25565 for my MC Server. I followed the instructions exactly and saved my settings and it doesn't seem to be working.
Here is a picture of the settings I put in (I tried using my public IP in Remote Host but no change)
There is the user manual, page 35 talks about how to do it:
6.2.1 Port Mapping Port mapping maps the HG630b port using a WAN IP address to a LAN computer. When Internet users access the HG630b port, the HG630b maps access requests to the LAN computer and provides services for the Internet users through the LAN computer. Internet users can then access the LAN computer. Configure a port mapping rule as follows: Step 1 Log in to the web management page. Step 2 In the navigation tree, choose Advanced > NAT. The NAT page is then displayed. Step 3 Click Port Mapping. Step 4 In Type, select Application and choose the application you want to set. For example, if your computer is required to provide the FTP service, select FTPServer from the drop-down list box. Step 5 In Remote host, enter a WAN IP address. Step 6 In Internal host, enter a LAN computer’s IP address. Step 7 Keep the default settings of other parameters. Step 8 Click Submit.

I've got a hg630b in my bag, I will have a go with it tomorrow in the office and see what needs to be done (can't interrupt the internet at home tonight :)

Don't worry about doing that now, I connected to my phones 3G hotspot and put in my home ip in Remote Desktop and it works, it seems as if with this modem I can't put in my public IP address within the Internal network like I could do with my Technicolor router. Thanks anyway for the help!

Brilliant, I didn't play around with port forwarding when I setup the router before, it all seemed to "just work" out of the box without much thinking, so thought I must have missed something.. Glad it's all sorted (but personally wouldn't run my RDP server on 3389, I normally port forward it to 13389 or similar to prevent people knocking on the front door.

Would that just "work" if I only forwarded the ports in the router? or do I need to do something on the server side? I'm guessing on the client side I would need to do "xxx.xxx.xxx.xx:13389" ?

On your TS / desktop just leave it on 3389, and on the router put the start / end port as 13389 rather than 3389 and the destination port as 3389, and you should be away.

Good evening, I'm also having the same issues as OP, I'm trying to port forward port 80 to host a simple web server. I have the HG630b router from telecom.
I have the port forwarding set up with the remote host as my External IP, the external start and end ports both 80, the internal host as 192.168.1.67 and the internal port as 80.
however its not working, if I go to my external ip i'm shown the routers login page?
I'm sure I must be doing something simple wrong other routers have worked fine. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I found that if you can't test the ports you just forwarded within your internal network, when I forwarded port 80 it went to my router login page, but when I went to the same ip address on my phones 3G and on a another network and the port forwarding worked perfectly, also I left the remote host blank.
pipster121: Oh Ok cheers, any ideas why that might be or how to turn it off because that's slightly frustrating haha.
I agree with you, It would be awesome to turn it off somehow, this happens with all ports, I can't use my public ip/ domain for port 3389 (Remote Desktop) in my internal network so instead I have to use the local ip. The only other person who might know how is the other person who is with Telecom who answered my question initially.
