Interference Crosstalk NZTelecom
On Sunday I received a call from the UK. One minute into the call there was an extremely loud “analogy modem” noise and I was unable to hear the caller. I hung up as I couldn’t hear the caller and the caller couldn’t hear me.
The caller, my brother called again. 2 minutes into the called the same thing happened. And again, this time the call failed and my brother reported a Samoan guy on the phone.
Again it happened again. We gave up.
I called TNZ. 10 calls later. It not a TNZ problem, speak to British Telecom.
So far we know;
No problem with local or national call.
House to local exchange checked by NZT and OK.
Single tele permit approved land line.
I suspect the problem is from the local exchange to the NZ gateway because;
1. the interference noise was extremely loud, so I’m guessing that it is close to me. I.e in NZ
2. I assume the Samoan guy was calling from NZ.
Is it possible that the problem is with TNZ?
And if so, how would they know where?
