Any ideas, suggestions welcome - but be realistic. There is no date set for this yet, just some ideas kicking around, thanks to RedJungle (click for larger version):

Thank you everyone for your comments so far. My question was actually about design - not feature.
Access to a preview site would be enabled when we have decided on the design and implemented the most of it so people can use, test in most browsers, etc. When this happens I will post here.
A mobile version (starting with our forums) is in the plans.
We currentlty offer a "NEW" flag based on new posts since your last login - or if you use the New Forum Posts page you can see all new or modified discussions since your last login, today, or yesterday. This link is always shown in the menu after you login (and is currently one of the top five pages on Geekzone in number of views).
A "Jump to last" or "Jump to first unread" can be done, still based on the time from last login.
The current Google Search option in the menu is just the size to make the display fit on a 1024 screen - any longer and it will put scroll bars around.
The new design will start on the frontpage and once we roll it out then we can start modifying the forums and others.
