Further more, I noticed on the mobile broadband plans page,?that the 'Broadband Pro 3GB' plan has been removed (from mobile plans, not PC)...seems a step backwards, very disapointing.

I just had an interesting phone call with Johnr... and as he says, seriously, 'watch this space'.

PaulBrislen: If you're On Account and regularly want more data we'd recommend moving up to one of the larger plans but for those that do go over the 100MB you're on the out of bundle rate of 10c/MB, which oddly enough equates to 100MB for $10.

The website seems to disagree with this. It says "If you use more than your monthly data amount you will be charged for the days you use 3G Mobile Broadband at the daily casual rate of $1 per day for the first 10MB then $1 per MB until either your data bundle recurs or you purchase an additional top-up bundle."

Does the 10c/MB only apply to On Account?

That's right, the 10c/MB only applies to On Account and you can buy as much as you like. Prepay customers can buy additional 100MB blocks at $10 each (as many as they like).

Why does the Vodafone website still contradict that ? it clearly says its 1$ per MB overage quoted below.

That would mean infact an additional 100MB would cost you 100$, not 10$ as you have stated at .10c MB

Which is it? Hope the website is wrong because 1$ per meg is a bad joke.

The website's wrong and will be adjusted as soon as Cranz gets off his lazy...

It's 10c/MB for data when you're On Account and have exceeded your limit.

I don't see this ever happening. You are comparing broadband stuck in one location vs broadband accessible just about anywhere. You will always pay for the convenience.

I know what you mean... I was just meaning more competitive. But I don't really see a reason why not.

Overseas there are 5GB limits on most plans (well US). And even here we have home 3G with 3GB plans that aren't too expensive... but I can't seem to find them anymore on VF website.

I'm guessing that the bean counters think the path to ROI on 3G data is through charging a small group of users a heap for stingy plans not charging a large group of users for reasonable plans.

Anyway... this is off topic. So I'll stop.

You mean the Broadband Pro plan that's here? 3GB for $70, plus another 3GB for $10 more? That's pretty competitive. They're still for sale.

Mobile broadband won't be replacing fixed line broadband for the big users any time soon. It's simply too expensive. A MB on fixed line is a fraction of the price of a MB on mobile.

The page you link too, showing the Broadband Pro plan with 3GB , is on the 'Computer' tab, ie. Broadband plans for your computer...
Clicking on the 'Mobiles' tab, brings up 'Broadband plans for mobiles', which has all the same plans, but not the 'Broadband Pro' 3GB plan.

Put simply, the Vodafone site is confusing at best, with a maze of pages, many with overlapping information on plans.

Best have Cranz tidy it up eh.

I hope its in regards to top-end data plans/add-ons, and its going to be available to both Prepay and On-Account...these 'fantastic new deals' everyone is getting excited about, offering 10MB, or 1MB a day...just does not excite me in the slighest.
