Unlimited Broadband - Terms Terms and Conditions

Thanks. Now to find out prices without term contract.

$109 per month, 130/10 with discount unlimited data..

I just switched from the old 150GB plan to unlimited and received an email which then stated I would be on a 12 month contact with $199 ETC. I rang back to get this corrected and was told Vodafone do not offer anything less than a 12 month contract and this could not be changed. No amount of talking would change his mind.

At the start of the call I asked to be put through to the retention team but was told he could help, when he couldn't and he wouldn't budge I said I would cancel the order for the new plan. He then stated I would need to talk to the retention team to do this.....I had been on the phone for 13 minutes by this stage.....so quite frustrated at this point and I hung up.

What's the deal, can I get this plan without a signing up for a minimum term?

Is being locked in for 12 months for unlimited data not a good deal?  Do you have some desire to move providers in this time?

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

If it goes bad you might want to get out, historically unlimited hasn't gone that well.

It's a 12 Month contract on the connection IIRC, So you can move down to a non unlimited plan (Although VF haven't changed their p2p policy between the non unlimited and capped plans).

HAPPY:
For the past year I have been on VF cable 50/2Mbps with cable Sky. I always maxed out on local VF speed tests, and got good performance with international connections (typically 90% of bandwidth). No Sky or POTS problems. Happy Camper.

UNHAPPY:
Since my automatic "upgrade" from 500GB "Entertain" to "Unlimited" on May 1, my international speeds have turned to custard (same times, same sites, same hosts, same proxies, same software, same hardware, no P2P).
I am now getting ADSL-like internet speeds, typically 25% of bandwidth, with frequent drop-outs.
My Sky TV has started to stutter and freeze, for the first time ever - VF speed tests at these times are typically 30/1 - this is the first time I have ever had a drop in VF speed tests.

This has now been going on for four days - is there any point in complaining, or should I wait and see?

Non related, Otherwise the forums would be light up with people with the same issues. I would think its more to do with your node maybe there is a fault there. Would you mind logging a ticket with us to look further into?

I currently have naked cable 500GB and I noticed that the unlimited plan is $10 cheaper. Can I switch or is there a penalty?

AFAIK from the previous posts, all 500Gb plans were switched to unlimited a few days ago so you are probably already switched

MikeHales: Yes price change is correct, will check re existing customers.

Did you ever figure out whether existing customers were eligible for the price drop in existing plans?

I don't think anyone from Vodafone replied here with the prices for non-contract either.

The summary PDF @ http://www.vodafone.co.nz/cms/documents/cable-ufb-homeph-offer-summary.pdf seems to imply that contract only changes the setup costs (which of course always makes it interesting about them locking you into another contract if you are already setup)

I'm currently on an old TelstraClear plan, and Telecom prepaid mobile, looking at changing to new cable plan + pay monthly mobile.

I tried calling on 0508 888 800 but was put on hold for longer than I was able to wait, do they have a callback service I can request somewhere?

Not for the 0508 number no. But if you're lucky, NikT might pick up on your message and you can use the "Geekzone Callback Service" ;)

Just came here to laugh at this thread. Called Vodafone, can I get VDSL? No because you have access to cable. I don't want cable, can I get VDSL? No cable's better. No it's not. Yes it is. We had it, it was horrible, can we get VDSL? No.

Rubbish ISP.

Actually cable should be a bit better than VDSL - even better if you get the 130 Mbps speeds.

I just looked at Vodafone's site to check prices and it says my address can't have cable - the same address I have had cable since 2006 (and the previous owners before that)...
