Yabanize:

Can't recall any freezing happening the past couple of days, perhaps its fixed?

I can confirm it is fixed.

I spoke too soon.

The micro-freezing was fixed by deleting a component within the platform and this is why we haven't seen any micro-pausing for a while.  However, the component (which provides redundancy / fail-over) was re-introduced a couple of days ago and we're now seeing the odd micro-pause again.

At least we now know the offending component and have our vendor analysing why it's introducing these errors.

JoBudge: Update. October 2020. The Vodafone Standalone (VFSA) tv box is available from Noel Leeming and The Warehouse. RRP is $179. Prior to October 2020 you could add up to 3 additional boxes as multi room for $25 per month. Since October 2020 you can have a total of 6. I see information here from Sep 2019 @Olaf saying there was currently no multi room available, but it would launch with 6 in 4 weeks. Obviously only did 3. Since the boxes were on sale at Noel Leeming and my 2 trial purchases from August through The Market were working great I returned my 5 skytv boxes and bought more VFSA boxes. Turns out whilst they have updated the webpages and the brichure ti 6 boxes for multiroom, no one in marketing told IT. So I have just spent 52 minutes to log the issue with Vodafone. When you have registered 4 boxes total you cannot generate an activation key from the multi room.page or a y ither page. The button is greyed out on the multi room page. There is no option to activate the box without Sky either. Only workaround I can see if you want several boxes but only some connected to sky is two separate Vodafone TV accounts with two different email addresses.

Wonder how long they will take to get back to me?
.....

Hi @JoBudge, you should be able to do it as we have others able to activate 1+5 multiroom boxes.

The team have asked if you can you DM me your email address that you're having issues with activating the 5th multiroom box.  We can then investigate further.

Thanks

Thanks so much to the guys here, a 5th activation code was supplied.

Any advice for a Vodafone TV unit unsubscribing to free view channels - Channels 1-4 disappeared from the menu, but I can find them if I go into the setting into content -> show hidden content.

Turn if off/on again not working, and if I hide unsubscribed content, they disappear again, and take a few more with them.

This was discussed many times around this thread. If you go to settings, hide and restore (if you want) the SKY channels you should see these back on the grid.

Tough comment. Who’s going to read 149 pages of thread looking for something like that, especially if they have no suspicion that it might be there and more so if they have just joined GZ and that’s their second post?

The real answer is that if VF had any sort of user manual for this unit these types of queries would be less likely to come up.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

A quick search for the terms "channels disappeared vodafone tv site:geekzone.co.nz" on Google brought this as first result and the second result was this page.

Yes, I agree reading through 149 pages is not something people will do for any good reason, but a search is not too hard these days.

Early this morning a patch was deployed that we believe has fixed the micro freezing.  If you're watching live during peak load tonight and see a microfreeze, please report the channel/time.  If you could also check if it's present in the catchup also that would be super helpful.  Thanks.

1920Hrs, channel one, live. Paused for a second, resumed itself, then black screen and nothing. Turned it off with the remote and back on again, but it the program hasn't returned. 401 no internet message. Now 'channel not subscribed'. Will go through the usual to try and rectify, but this is annoying.

@sansom Had a full broadcast outage at 19:20 today. All other apps were OK fetching content. Just no TV, eventually came back after about 6-8 mins.

Down here also at 7:20pm. Black screen, channel not subscribed and 401 no internet message

Suspect this was a nationwide outage.

Someone seriously needs to get on to fixing these issues, they are getting worse, not better.
