Looked through this thread but could not see an answer...

Can you have a VodaTv with with Sky addons on 2 devices at different locations (home and bach). i.e a VodaTV, Skt Starter, Sport and multiroom addon - purcahse 2 VodaTV devices and sign in with the same account and watch Sport at home and bach?

I believe you can. I have done it without the Sky addons at present, but I updated the new unit in the same house as the original unit initially.

If you have both registered to the same account, the multiroom will be added automatically for you ($25 per additional box) - and a maximum of 6 boxes can be registered to one account.

The nice thing is that anything recorded will be available from any of the devices.

(And some of the channels are available live/on demand via the VTV app on ipad, etc too without requiring multiroom)

This thread is legendary. Every time I use google to find help with my Vodafone TV, this thread is the top result with the answer I need. Thanks GZers (and Google)

The thought has occurred to me that maybe we could crowdsource a manual and FAQ for the device, in absence if a similar quantity of 'news you can use' from Vodafone!

Hi, made an account just to ask a question here - How do I take the gen 2 remote out of TV control mode? I tried setting it up to control my TV and it paired to my Sony CD player/speaker thing instead. Tried unplugging the CD player and pairing the remote to the TV again, but it wouldn't power off like it's supposed to and it presumably stayed paired to the CD player. Tried unpairing and pairing the remote from the box, that didn't work either.

I have a feeling a proper factory reset on the remote would work, but the Vodafone website was useless. Does anyone know the button combination for a factory reset or to turn off TV control on the gen 2 remote? Thanks

Hi. Please do a factory reset on the remote.. it’s something like yellow-blue held down until the led flashes, then a bunch of 9’s. The instructions to reset are in the remote leaflet.

Check out my LPFM Radio Station at www.thecheese.co.nz - Now on iHeart Radio, TuneIn and Radio Garden

Thanks, there was actually something that popped up on google when I searched for how to reset the remote, but it wasn't on the actual Vodafone page so I thought it might have been for a different version.

For anyone else looking into this - the factory reset is blue+menu until the LED flashes green, then press 9 four times and the remote will start flashing red - you're done

Yesterday our Gen 2 box in a bedroom was fully lagigng, the TV channel was essentially playing in slow motion, and the menus were very unresponsive and laggy too. Of course, a reboot fixed it.

It was a hot 30 degree day in Christchurch yesterday so wonder if it overheated. (though we didn't turn the TV on until late at night when it had cooled down)

Sanity check here please (he says, addressing the Crowd who seem to be the best Source of VTV info).
After a brief chat before a private movie showing (mutual friend), I realised June had unnecessary problems with her VTV. First of which was that she would use her TV remote to turn on the TV, then press the 'Standby' button to turn on VTV - Downers tech had assumed she would see and use the power button on the VTV remote without having it pointed out to her. First sign of an issue. June is mature in years, but perfectly able and will to follow clear (by her standards) instructions. The install tech appears to have treated her in a patronising way, not explaining much, and not doing a good job of explaining anything.

So - the sanity check please:
* her VTV box has 'Standby' and 'WPS' buttons. Does this confirm the box is Gen 2? (It is leased.)
* The box does not respond to 'Yellow + OK' to set up control of her TV. Does this suggest her remote is Gen 1? Is is 'normal' to have a Gen 2 box with Gen 1 remote?
* If it is a Gen 2 box, should I be surprised to see she has a wired Ethernet going to an range extender box, which appears to communicate with the same model box which is next to her Ultrahub?

Overall I think she can now use the device to her desire. "Wherever you, press 'Menu' go get back.' seemed to be the key message she needed! (Once I'd explained the power button.)

Thanks to everyone who thinks about answering my questions! (I know nothing about Gen 1 / leased VTV.)

Yes correct.  A Generation 2 STB will have the 'Standby' and 'WPS' buttons on the side.

To identify the Gen2 remote, on the front, just under the standby button there will be a little hole.

Gen1 remote does not have this little hole.

Thanks @magnetonz:. June does have the correct remote. Guess I'll need to practise my skills at pressing the Yellow and OK buttons at the same time! Managed when we got our VTV a year or so ago. Can't be too hard.
While I'm surprised the tech to used a range extender on a Gen 2 VTV, it works, so no worries there.

OK! The part I was missing was where the printed instructions say "... until the LED blinks green twice." (there is a photo of the printed instructions on page 44 of this topic). The only LED I could see was on the VTV box.
This instruction has been make clear in the current online version "... until the Power button blinks green twice". So it does! http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/28896/~/pair-or-reset-your-vodafonetv-remote

Does anyone know if you can change the order of the applications? I don't use prime video or neon, so I want to move youtube and three now up (so they show up on the main menu)
