Yeah I have same issue this morning of static IP been disconnected. I personally will cancel 1gbit if I cant not have a static IP. I dont know how can you get the most from a premium connection like this if getting double nat'd?

I completed the form on Vodafone site 10 days ago asking to keep my static.  Completely shocking Vodafone.

Is it really double nat'd without a static IP though? I don't think that's how it works. Having an IP address allocated dynamically is not the same thing as NAT and address translation etc.

I've had a static IP with them for about the last 15 years, but decided I was ok with letting it go. I haven't been running servers on my machine for years, and those few occassions I want to remotely test software I'm developing, I'll just lookup what my IP address is at the time.

My performance is very acceptable...

Island Bay, node WKH, cable 100/10

I have the same problem  undecided

Awaiting "FibreX" upgrade provisioning Monday.

Connection OK 11pm last night, down this morning.

Rang helpdesk - very helpful and apologetic but unable to fix.

Was told that my static IP had been changed to dynamic.

Windows says: "The DNS server isn't responding"

I eventually got my connection back by switching my DNS setting to 8.8.8.8.

Still on 100/10Mbps.

It looks like there are not a lot of routers available that support true gigabit lan speeds. Might end up building a pfsense box or looking at the edge lite router.

Highly, highly recommend pfSense! Running pfSense here and it works like an absolute charm!

Flatmate was just on the phone for an hour, after getting transferred back and forth between departments about 5 times. They said under no circumstance can you get this on a 12 month contract, nor was there any half price offers for 6 months or the $20 off a month offer. Why has this all changed already?

What hardware are you using? the hardest part of it all is deciding on the hardware to build with! I might start a new thread for that. EDIT: New thread for pfsense build http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=205094

I am currently donwloading BF4 via Origin at 56MBps - Over Ethernet

I ordered my FibreX upgrade on Wednesday afternoon. On Friday afternoon (2 days in out of the promised 3) I still hadn't heard from Downers regarding an install date. Looks like it might have been a blessing in disguise. This would not have been a good weekend to be without internet.

But I'm guessing this is just teething issues for a new product. Really appreciate the work of the Vodafone folks on this forum working through the weekend to sort out these issues.
