Essem: Is anyone else having issues with Telstra Sky too? Or is my Sky issue unrelated to the download overload?

No. Tv is unaffected by Internet.

Even if its a Telstra T-Box? Appreciate if someone can confirm they are unrelated, so I know how to complain accurately tomorrowWink

I can confirm it.. TV pics are carried In separate range to internet

Thanks!! So I also have a faulty T Box (it doesn't play or record). Day 3 of Telstra, I'm not enjoying it so far.

I'd like to know what traffic would be like if we just had more realistic data caps.

So far I've moved ~33Gb since we started this exercise.  So translate that over a month and we're talking about ~1Tb of data, which really isn't that much, .au already have those caps as standard on many providers.

What would the network be like if we all just had 250 to 500gb monthly limits?

I've moved a truck load of data today. but I don't generally produce at much.  It takes 9 hours on my video camera to make 30gb.  But I'm moving 3 years to our back up server.

Pfft... the only ones being greedy here are the providers and that's one of the points that CFH have been attempting to make with the UFB project.

I'm running an averaged 2/2, if that, on a 15/2 service.

UFB is talking about 30mbit, 50 and 100mbit tails with a 5mbit CIR on it.  I'm not even running a 2mbit CIR.

Give me a strength.

We are paying 16 times the cost here for data that they are in Australia.  If we were paying Australian prices then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I was told today there's a new T-Box firmware update coming. Take it or leave it. You know I won't reveal my sources and that's all I will say.

Oh no, sorry... I did believe you... it's just that reading the T-Box issues thread, there's always a new firm ware update on the way!

Last post I read in there from Gary, he was talking about an update being months and months away.... and then suddenly one turned up...  but then it's followed by a raft of people saying that it's crap and the T-Box still doesn't perform as expected.

"It’s highly unlikely that the update will take another 6-12 months as some have speculated. It’s quite likely to be a few months. However, given the issues that have been identified in earlier iterations of the release as mentioned, 3-4 months is also possible. We’re not denying that and giving you all the available information. We’ll have more certainty in 4-6 weeks." - Gary - TCL 9 Nov 2011

...but then the performance update was suddenly pushed out....

...but then a host of people came along and complained the box was still rubbish...

...so I'm sure there is another update on the way very shortly...  I get the impression they sort of got the message that RWC is over and they best get the box sorted or they're all coming back like an early xmas present.

Cable broadband 10meg service in Hataitai (don't know why this area should be blighted) but I'm getting speeds of

Download 0.97 Mbps
Upload     2.09 Mbps

Not very happy, can't watch YouTube and browsing is slow.

Teeps: The minute I see that they are doing this again I will be on the phone to them insisting I am not included and insisting my speeds aren't affected

Good luck with that.
