Thanks for the answers,

was looking to talk to NZ customers services agents with Vodafone and technicians,

as I am getting told Vodafone customers are entitled to full fibre as long as its available in there area

instead of the 130/10 cable/copper/fibre lines I am currently on, ( nothing wrong with the 130/10 )

Just trying to find out the real story regarding Fibre and get the best deal since its a 12 month term,

getting swamped with offers regarding fibre, Spark and BigPipe and 2 degrees look great at the moment

No, you can't get fibre with them if cable is available. End of story. Haven't you been told this previously?

Jamie, do you read all the posts in threads you start? im sure ive seen it said 3-4 times in your threads, that if you are with vodafone and have cable then you can not have fibre with them. if you want fibre you need to change to another Internet Service Provider.

Fibre is a superior service to cable

The fibre is a better product full stop. Billions of dollars have been invested and we are going to move up in the world with the likes of Scandinavian countries, Japan and Korea because of it.

The 130/10 service seems pretty reasonable but will probably never get a speed boost over the next 5-10 years. Where as on fibre they can boost it big time. But if you are happy with the cable service then continue to use it.

But if V/F wont set up fibre, then you will have to ask someone else. From their perspective, they have to pay another LSP to lease UFB tails, so they are better off utilizing their cable network because that will cover their investment or turn them a larger profit.

If you own the property then I would be getting a fibre install, since Crown Fibre Holdings are paying for most (if not all) of the UFB circuits. If Vodafone outright refuse to order it, then you will have to look at another provider to get this done.

Sorry,

Was just explaining how I was told I was allowed fibre on Vodafone as an upgrade,

and wanted to talk to someone in NZ who could tell me the truth

( you guys have convinced me I need fibre, just trying to sort it all out before the 21st April )

Yes, fibre is good, but you don't seem to understand that you're best to not have it with Vodafone. Disregard the information you were told as it is incorrect and you can't do it - you're wasting your time trying to find "the truth" - that is the truth; cable to fibre is not an upgrade option with Vodafone. Assuming your Vodafone contract is finished, I recommend that you move on and look for another provider. You will save yourself a lot of headaches.

Sorry for the belated reply,

Finally made the jump! signed up with Spark, cause they had a great deal for Fibre! (said it will take around 3-5 weeks for the install)

so my 12 month Vodafone contract runs out on the 29 April (this month) =) so should I not tell them im switching yet and just pay the extra month starting on the 29 April to 29 May ( price of bill will more than likely go up for that month? correct? since I am out of contract!, but i've read alot of ISP companies

you need to give them 30 days notice for disconnecting services so if I don't let them know for another 4 weeks now, then will I have to pay for 29 April -29 May and 29- May to 29 June? 2 extra months?

because I have Telephone/Broadband and Sky with Vodafone .. could I cancel my Sky TV on the 29th April so I don't get charged extra month for that also? or would they need 30 days notice for TV also?

( more than likely be signing up with Sky directly through them over next few weeks )

If you are with cable then signing up with another provider for fibre should not close your Vodafone account.

Once fibre is working, call Vodafone and close the account.

Remember that wait times for fibre installs are notoriously unpredictable - "around 3-5 weeks" is at best a guesstimate.
