Fellas - I'm not trying to be rude here but if you're not satisfied with what's being provided, go to another ISP - it's really that simple.

Unfortunately it's not so simple for all of us. Some of us are catched by Xnet and we can't break these chains.

Well I don't think you've been rude at all and I already stated I was happy with the product. As for saying the reasons there's no updates on here is that as Maverick stated earlier they don't want to potentially let down their customers as I pointed out like others before me they're sending out billing information stating they're a few weeks away from giving us some new plans / rates etc so as I said before that's two months they've stated that now not us the customers going hey where's the new stuff this is there own communications.

If I wanted to be with another provider I would be joining the many others that already got sick of waiting pre xmas or the ones who were ok with accepting that there was some delays from the Comcoms decision to change costings. It simply does not make for good business sense to ignore your customers and or lie to them I don't think asking for a little communication is too much to ask for.

If you've been following this thread for a while which I know you have you would see I have on numerous times stated I'm happy with what I get but feel that there could be a little more communication for those customers who have not jumped ship or those who as vga has pointed out before don't have other options.

Plus there's been comments from the staff on other threads in more recent times so why not pop in here once and a while and give a brief update as if they can stick a few weeks away on a bill they send to all customers they must have some timeframes or some ideas as to what these changes are.

Some subdivisions are fibre only (No copper in the whole subdivision). WXC are the only ISP/Telco that provides a service to these subdivisions. Our one has no Telecom/VF 3G coverage either, so we are trapped paying whatever they charge us.

Sure, but this is not WxC's fault. If other ISPs are not offering services in those subdivisions is not because WxC is blocking them.

If I recall correctly, a number of other alternatives were also provided that didn't rely on the fibre connection.

Have you contacted your local MP, ComCom, InternetNZ or TUANZ yet? That's what I would be doing if I lived in one of these pre UFB fibre trials.

One of those groups must surely must know OR can chase up/find out what is supposed happening with pre UFB fibre estates.

Well, I got tired of waiting for the new plans so I rang and cancelled the naked broadband. I have gone to naked unlimited broadband with Maxnet for $125 a month and to date I am impressed.

I was streaming too much content during peak time and even with my grandfathered 75GB free torrent plan I was still paying a high monthly cost. I had been with xnet for about 4 years.

I have kept VOIP with Xnet and they told me when I cancelled the new plans were still a month away. If I don't like Maxnet I can cancel within 3 months for no penalty so I will still check out the new xnet plans - Hope they have an unlimited option!

Well it would be good to hear some news about what's upcoming as if they're not going to offer a lot I may jump on with someone else too as with Burtz i'm still paying $120-$150 per month even with 75gig free and tbh that's more than I can really afford especially since I joined up with Quickflix and Netflix recently.

For those that haven't seen, telecom are adding more data to all of their plans.

Supposedly Orcon also release new plans next week.

We've just bought a house so the tricky bit is deciding who to go with now - Telecom, Orcon, Telstraclear or slingshot. Xnet has failed me, so it shouldn't be too hard ringing to cancel tonight.
