Something's really screwy today. Not able to go beyond 3 Mbps at all. Rebooted everything twice. No luck. :\

EDIT
Rebooted everything except for the device I was testing on. Whoops. All is well now.

Hmmm traffic shaping/ramping up to hit speed test results seems to be all they are trying to get. Real world is just terrible. My speed tests max out at 945/100 which should mean I can get 115mb/s down 12mb/s up. I know this is possible with my SSD hdd's. On my Lan I can do this no problem.
Steam while the peak is 40mb/s it is constantly stalling out and ramping up the download
Torrents have not been able to MAX the line or get anything above 30mb/s in the evenings I'm getting shaped to 5mb/s
Youtube 4k streaming is fine. But the HG659 has crap wireless reception so don't expect to be able to do more than 720p to a chromecast. - Line of sight 5 meters away.
Gaming is ok about the same as the old cable. ping 47 to Aussie.
I have setup a pfsense box for testing but its not able to manage more than a 240/100 connection on a realtek chip I am awaiting one of those cheap 4 port intel ebay $45 shipped ($200 + $15 shipping on Tardeme) cards to see if that will work better. I am using this in the interim due to the crappy HG659 wireless.

As above.
Wellington. FibreX 200/20Mbps
My time-of-day TrueNet stats for Auckland for the last week:

I didn't believe these results at first, but they do match my real-world performance.
I haven't had anything over 50Mbps for two weeks (except midnight-to-dawn).
Typically 25Mbps for downloads.
I was getting much better results on my old 100/10Mbps cable connection. ![]()

That is not a pretty looking graph.. hate to say it but, http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=40&topicid=204855&page_no=1#1655163 eh.

While I'm not see slow speeds through the various speed testing websites, I am getting the odd webpage hanging while loading or occasional timeout.
Also, video streaming services will automatically default to the lowest resolution which is especially annoying for services that don't let you change the resolution *cough* Lightbox *cough*
micro outages aside the connection has provided the speeds that it promised 24/7 (for me) although I wasn't in a congested area prior to the upgrade anyway.
Extra: I just finished downloading Star Citizen at 100MBps:
PC: 5800X3D/32GB/RTX3070
Car: Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205
Here is a typical download on my 200/20Mbps cable connection - it starts well and then rapidly fades away until it finishes ...

(each column represents one second)
Am I looking at shaping?

I was getting much faster downloads on my old 50/2 cable.
Just got mine installed, way better than Spark VDSL

Better today/now.

Fastest I've seen, so clearly capable of the speeds at "odd" times.

Just regarding speedtests, I seem to be getting more reliable tests from ACSdata instead of the vodafone server. I notice that the DOCSIS 3.1 connections are inside the "ihug" network instead of "Telstraclear" so wondering if this is making a difference

I have a "FibreX" 200/20 connection in Wellington.
I get wonderful speed tests on the Vodafone servers - full line speed 24/7. ![]()
ACSData servers give a VERY different result (Auckland server, time-of-day):

Unfortunately this graph matches my real-world performance. ![]()

Is there a way to find out the IPs of both VF and ACSdata speedtest servers? be interesting to see the route

Hmm, it was when I posted it.
Do they drop off after a time?
At any rate, it was 805 down and 95 up.
Edit: Actually I notice no-one has the Speedtest graphic showing. THough this edit seems to have it showing again, wonder if it'll still be there when I hit Post.
