Yep Cable in Pram Beach been down for the last hour for me, but back up now (and Vodafone still hadn't answered my phonecall or responded to my tweet.. slackers).

Nor was the network status page updated at any point (even slacker)

My cable internet (Lower Hutt) wasn't working this morning - from a bit after 10am for about 45 min. Related perhaps?

You managed to get a phone call to someone? All I (Newtown, but I'm guessing it was down everywhere) got was a message saying that due to a network fault, the phone was not working, and hangup.
Welcome back TelstraClear - all is forgiven. (At least you got funky hold music while waiting, and sometimes a message telling you what the fault was, but never a broken phone system.)

Welcome back Telstra Clear (help desk) NOOOOOO!!!!!

My experience with calling the helpdesk (or the 0508 number) has had a 100% improvement since the Vodafone takeover. Updated to a Windows phone, needed a new sim card (micro) no problem, upgraded to 100Mbs Warp speed plane no problem.

The fault yesterday? Internet and phone dropped about 10:00am Saturday, Landline phone call to 0508 888 800, always engaged. Called my friendly tame tech, he said he had the same problems.

Logged on later in the day (when everything was working again) and the Service Status page said there were major problems Nationwide with Phone and Internet. Suggested unplugging internet modem for a few minutes and plugging it back in once service was restored.

Status page still has this (Sunday 12:42pm):

Paraparaumu, KapitiCustomer Impact:Customers in Paraparaumu may be experiencing a loss of cable internet and TV service.

Technicians are aware of this issue and are working to restore the service as soon as possible.

Hi there

Looks like the techs are aware of it and working on it. Further info will be on the InHome cable network status page here
http://networkstatus.telstraclear.co.nz/home/internet_.html

Thanks

Dylan

I have no problems with national traffic. It seems international traffic on the other hand is completely FUBAR at the moment. If it's related to previous problems discussed here or to the earthquake that affected the lower North Island area is unknown...
