Hi all,

I have two new VF ADSL connections going in tomorrow for a client (the client is a TelstraClear account). These will be Chorus Wholesale connections.

The account manager has e-mailed me today to say that no username/passwords are required as the Circuit ID will be used instead.

I have asked if a generic username and password is to be used (a la Telecom) but she does not know as this is the first connection she has done. She suggest I contact faults if it doesn't work :(

Trouble is i need to configure a Cisco box, and i'm pretty sure i can't do it with out a user name and password.

No details on the Vodafone website yet - all instructions say use the PPP username and password provided

Anyone else done one of these yet?

regards,
Clint

Thats how I will setup initially, but wanted to check in case there is a specific generic to use as we have to reduce the down time to a minimum

ExTCL wholesale ADSL connections now authenticate by circuit ID rather than username/password (LLU connections always have AFAIK). Change went through on the 4th. Any placeholder text should be fine if a device insists on having a username & password. :)

You mean ex-TCL LLU connections? Red Network (ihug LLU) still authenticates by username and password.

Please note: I have a professional bias towards Vodafone.
