From Vodafone NZ on Twitter:

We will be couriering iPhones ordered via the website for Saturday delivery PLUS...

IF you're in Auckland AND you order before 11am on Friday AND you pay an extra $25 you'll get it delivered ON FRIDAY. That is all.

lol?

Would do that if they'd reveal what the special offer is. If you don't get anything extra ordering from them (or anything of significance), I'll go to Magnum.

Ahhh, no, no you won't....just got a call from Magnum Mac. Vodafone this morning have put the kibosh on selling outrights at launch. So it's online, plan or nada.

What sort of payments do Vodafone accept online?
Only credit card?
What about those who don't have a credit card and want to buy an iPhone without a plan?

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

I imagine you can put the 'upfront' payment on your first bill.

So you are saying that no one will sell me a phone without a plan? If I walk into a Vodafone store they are going to say no?

I only want the phone as the plan I have now has everything I want and work pay for it.

I'll call them later to see what the deal is if no one has already.

You need to order it online through vodafone, then yes, it's plan free.

No vodafone store (or mag mac) will sell you an outright one tomorrow.

Maybe in a few weeks that will change, but for the moment, as has been explained in a heap of places, it's vodafones way of controlling people buying them then reselling overseas as vodafoneNZ iPhones are 100% unlocked.

How nice of them!
What a nice little cash cow for Vodafone directly...
Previously I'd always been a Voda supporter, but this is really turning me off them

whether you agree with vodafoneNZ/Apple or not, they are trying to prevent this...

http://forums.mactalk.com.au/31/68692-live-overseas-want-unlocked-iphone-3gs-look-inside.html

Regardless of the agreements Apple probably have with the telco's internationally, they really don't want the warranty issues that this will create as well.
