this morning I awoke to find a new flyer in the mail box from TC so I gave it once over it's not to bad a deal $75/pm for 40GB BroadBand + standard Phone line + Free Wireless modem + 1st 2 months free

Sweet or so I thought (oh did I forget to mention I live in Napier) so now that $75/pm is $80/pm WTF that's not what it says on the flyer and yes there's no mention of price outside of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch (otherwise the standard big back yard areas) being slightly more expensive anywhere on the damn thing..... Isn't this called false advertising or bait n switch

I think there was a little bit of confusion, normally with non-metro addresses there is an additional $5 / month charge however with this offer it is a flat rate of $75.

I'm sure if you give the call centre a call they'll be happy to help :-)

Hi everyone,

This is a brand new offer and the price is $75 a month.

The details are here http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/sub-sites/our-sharpest-deal/index.cfm

Athlonite - sorry to hear that you were given the wrong information. Please email me (button in the tool bar above this post) with your contact details and I will ask one of the team to give you a call and talk the offer through, if you're interested. I'd also appreciate anything you can tell me about what you were told so I can pass that feedback to the team and get that sorted.

Thanks, Gary

Hi Athlonite,

We are still offering our standard packages as people have different phone and broadband needs. These standard packages are detailed on the website.

The $75 best price ever is a special offer and is offered alongside our standard packages. There is a $75 offer banner at the top of the web pages for the standard phone and internet options. This promotes this offer while also giving people the option to choose what best suits them.

Hope that helps.

Gary

Can you join that package while still on contract and have the option of adding on unlimited tolls? (or at least big back yard?)

According to the small print it's only for new customers. In some countries ISPs reward loyal customers with cheaper rates, but here it seems to be the other way around :(

I'm not sure what you're saying about Big Back Yard; it's not limited to Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch. I'm in Whakatane and while I have to pay the extra $5, I also get BBY.

Hi everyone,

Our customer service reps are always happy to talk to you about your telecommunications needs. If you are out of contract, or want to know about changing your current package (including any contract termination fees that may apply) one of the team will be able to help with which of our packages is right for you.

Cheers, Gary

Is this available anywhere you can get broadband?
The last time you had a deal similar to this they couldn't give it to me even though we currently have ADSL at home.

Hi CYaBro. This offer is available to any residence that we're able to connect broadband to over copper so you should be right. Give one of our reps a call and they can confirm it.

Well that's great!

I called the 0508 00 55 88 number about 6 times and can't get through.
It rings and I get the generic Welcome to TelstraClear message saying "We will be with you shortly." then it rings again and I get a message about "This call may be recorded for training purposes" then the call disconnects!

It was doing that a few weeks ago, it took me five attempts over three days to get the call to connect.
