edge:
semigeek: Has anyone had any problems where their computer goes into Sleep mode, and then approximately 30 seconds later, it wakes back up again without actually touching anything like a keyboard or mouse?

Sort of.  My main issue was that the computer refused to sleep at all automatically.  If I manually put it to sleep (usually at night) It was always lit up like a Xmas tree in the morning.  What I don't know is how soon after going to sleep it actually woke up again.  Searching the interweb thingie I found one option was to disable wake timers:

Settings > system > power and sleep > additional power settings > change when the computer sleeps > change advanced power settings > expand the "sleep" tree > expand "allow wake timers" and set to "disable"

This stopped it waking up again (but didn't fix the not sleeping issue) - however, I am not enough of a geek to know exactly what disabling wake timers was doing - i.e. whether there was some other disadvantage in disabling these timers.  Someone with more knowledge than me would have to comment, or maybe you know that yourself.

BUT - getting back to the original issue of not going to sleep, the solution appeared to be to uninstall all the usb drivers in device manager individually and restart the computer to reinstall.  This has totally fixed my "not going to sleep" issue.  I have now just gone back and re-enabled wake timers just in case the usb re-installation has fixed that as well.  I haven't done it overnight yet so cannot report on whether it will start waking up again after any length of time.  Will report back if I find anything useful.

UPDATE: So... it seems that, unlike me, the computer has slept happily throughout the night with the wake timers re-enabled.  The uninstalling of all the usb drivers has obviously been the fix for the sleep/wake issue in my case at least.

Big Windows Update today for Windows 10.

Unfortunately I can't find a good changelog anywhere. Windows Update now doesn't even link to the KB any more.

Yes there is...click Details...then click "This update requires a restart"...

So you have what appears to be pretty much the same generic "resolves issues in Windows" that you always had, plus the KB number...

At least old Windows Update had a link to appropriate KB article. This info says nothing really.

There's no LINK, that's true, but the details do have the KB number, it's easy enough to look that up if you're keen. Bad news is that the KB article just lists all the files that it updates and not much else

EDIT: here's the KB article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3081424

Says it includes all previous updates, but will only download what you don't already have, so probably won't be that large a download for most people...

Mike, it may not matter for the users at large, but it matters to some. I know very well how to use a search engine to find the KB, thanks. The point is the UI seems to be done in a rush. If they could save 15 minutes by not coding a hyperlink in Windows Update, just to ship the OS by the date they would.

It makes me feel Windows 10 is not finished, by a long way. We are basically involved in one of the largest beta in the world. This isn't good.

You're right, Windows 10 is not finished

Microsoft is moving Windows 10 to a "Windows as a service" model that means the operating system is regularly updated based on feedback and automated telemetry.

That’s part of the reason Windows 10 is considered the "final version of Windows," as regular updates means it’s never really finished.  We will never be done with Windows 10, we will be regularly rolling out future updates.

Has there ever been a Windows OS that has been any different? I cant help but think back to the days of Win 95, Windows ME, Vista, and that awful first drop of the dreadful Windows 8. Granted XP and Windows 7 have probably rated as the best. But I think for completeness Windows 10 is right up there with XP and 7. In fact I'm having less problems with 10 than I ever had on XP or Win7.

So there is now patch which is missing its release notes.
Hopefully the release notes are published soon. In the meantime if you worried about it, simply don't install it.

You can look upon Windows being like Linux Distributions and OSX and constantly evolving, it is new to the Windows ecosystem and will take some getting used to, I am OK with it coming from a Linux/OSX background
