That is almost the life of a PC though. I do have a free windows 10 upgrade license for this PC, and have it set to dual boot. But the software incompatibilities aren't good with win 10, and I have some older software that needs windows XP compatibility still. I will have to use a dedicated machine for XP stuff I suspect after 2020. The way windows 10 forces updates and boots when it wants is a turn off though, and then sometimes the updates can be very buggy, annoys me.
Migrate away from the older software, or if it's tied to hardware migrate away from said hardware. Easier said than done I know when the business has invested 5 or 6 figures into the kit, but welcome to the world we live in. Anything XP should have been killed with fire some time ago, but if it isn't I hope it's airgapped from the network.
