Hi

Im after some help exporting mac contacts into MS 365 email , so that they sync into the cloud
Importing them into Outlook for Mac , drops them into "on my computor" contact folder : that folder doesnt sync with
365 : ie it doesnt sync into the 'cloud' (365 exchange/outlook online)

Any advice would be appreciated.

This is going to be easier than you think...

Go to System Preferences and then Internet Accounts. Add a new Exchange account and enter your username (email address) and password. It'll pop up a window asking what you want to connect to - choose Contacts.

Then open the contacts app (you might need to wait for it to sync), go to view and make sure Show Groups is selected. On the left-hand side of the contacts window, it will show a group of the contacts on your mac and there will also be a group for the now added Exchange account. Simply select the "on this mac" group and select all of the contacts and simply drag and drop them to the Exchange account... and depending on the volume - you may need to wait for them to sync again - and it will be done...

NB: Where I've said the group is called "on my mac" I cannot recall what that group is called - it may be named differently.
