Hopefully they are well underway in looking for a site in Wellington and Christchurch.
Can only assume for Wellington that it would end up either in Taita or Porirua due to how much land they need.

I thought they already had consent for the industrial zone out in Rolleston?
Joined Costco over the holidays as we'll be spending a bit of time out west over the coming months. I didn't find the pricing to be great for most things. Today, I decided to get fuel at Costco, after hearing about the great savings others are making. When we came past the Mobile station about 1km from home, we found their retail price was exactly the same, and it would have been $0.06 cheaper per litre using a Smiles card, so that was a waste of time.
The Kirkland brand goods (Costco's home brand) are probably where the most savings are to be made, and of course I can't get that elsewhere. Otherwise, I'm going to need to eat a lot of croissants and roast chicken to justify the membership cost.
I believe you can cancel within a certain timeframe and get your money back.
That certain time is 365 days - you can cancel for a full refund at any time.
Anyone had a warranty issue resolved by Costco? Have confirmed a fault with an electrical item I purchased from them. Called and they said email.
I emailed all the details over 10 days ago and Nada.
Sorta on topic. Im a keen gardener, very geek like. I grow lots of tomatoes. This time of year they should be 95c a kilo, a quick Google says its about $9 to $12. What is Costco doing them for? (Im in CHC so Costco free here) Yes, I am aware of weather issues, just asking

Forgot about this. Despite quite a hassle, my BBQ power adapter was fixed by them at no charge for me (discounting the time I spent). In the end they were so disorganized there were two sent out. It's a common problem, so I have kept the second one for insurance (I let them know).
gzt: Costco plans new car sales in NZ

Apparently this is something they already do in Australia.
If they are anything like the BBQ I bought, it will be a slightly different spec and be missing some of the features of the NZ Supplied identical thing. This is very common with Costco, make sure the car you buy has airbags/seatbelts :)

This is something the suppliers do so that their other retailers are not competing. Sometimes its as basic as wrapping 2 of the thing together and slapping a new barcode on the combined package, other times they will have accessories in it or left out, or like with some of the airtags etc they are pack sizes noone else sells.

In my experience, it's a price thing and stuff is missing as a result.
My BBQ was still a bargain, I got my BBQ for 35% off, which was significant, and then got a third party plate added for $80.
In NZ cars tend to be higher spec'd as they sell less of them, and to find a SKU that suits everyone tends to be the thing, but in the US, a car is usually a frame and you need to add actually pretty much everything. It's even worse than the UK.
I imported a car a few years ago, and the number of things I had to add to make it even remotely comparable was huge. Still was MUCH cheaper though.
Buyer Beware is all I am saying.

I would like to see Paraparaumu, there is space out there for a massive warehouse, and with Transmission Gulley now open makes it easy.
Westgate is similar distance to Auckland (driving time) as Paraparaumu is to Wellington.
